Q: Can you rent an apartment with a business visa?

6 months in hotels and I have had enough!! I need to rent a furnished apartment is Shenzhen, but I am afraid that I need a different visa to do this.
I am back and forth all the time but spend about 8 months a year in China, so an apartment would be the best thing for me.
Suggestions??

Visa does not matter, you can even rent an apartment for 1 year even if you just stay here on a 1 month tourist visa...

Yes thedude you can! Why would you think you couldn't get an apartment with a working visa? frown You must need a lot of help if you've been living in a hotel for 6 months. I've never heard anybody doing that before. Somebody must have lied to you if you've been there for 6 months that's ridiculous. Anyways it's safe to start looking for an apartment now. You could have asked this question months ago and saved some money!

My company pays my bills so I didn't care. I stay in a serviced apartment now....best of both worlds. I'll rent a real apartment next year.

Dude, if I may.

You say you have now a fully serviced apartment, proviuded by the company.  To me, that means you have an apartment, and someone comes in and does all the cleaning, etc, that needs to be done.

May I ask why are you seeking a regular apartment where you will have no services provided?  Are you that bored?  Anyway, maybe your company will also provide for services if you move, none of my business do.

And YES, you can rent an apartment with any type of visa, the requirement is in order to buy one.

I have an appartment in downtown Dongguan ready to rent. Monthly rate is 2000 RMB, 88 square meters, complete decoration, 2 rooms, 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom, 1 parlor. With refrigerator, air conditioners, washing machine, Range hood and two beds & two closets, sofa, TV set, Internet access.

In big residential garden, at 18th floor with electric lift/elevator and piped-in gas(fuel).

Bus stop within 20 meters with taxi runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Inside the garden, it's quiet (the appartment towards north which is the farthest side from the main street).

Anyone interested can contact me by phone: +86 13751361427 or e-mail: y8321cn@gmail.com

(By the way, for guests from outside of China, we request that you have passport with visa period no less than rent period).
