Q: Can you tell the difference between Chinese calligraphy and ugly Chinese handwriting?

It bothers me a lot. Anyone have any ideas?

There is an old guy who lives close to us who does calligraphy on the pavement.

He has a pot of almost water like ink and a long brush. When the weather cools (as it is at the moment), he is out every night writing poems, one character per paving slab. By the time he finishes, the start of the poem has evaporated

Lots of people stop to admire his calligraphy.

Others just walk over it, totally oblivious to his art.

Who is still doing hand writing these days? Maybe for signing your name, but I barely write anything with my hands anymore. Most time I just type what I write.
