How hard is it to get Canadian dependent visa for an Australian? It has been over a month we are trying to figure out to apply but Canadian Visa process seems complicated for us. Anyone with any info if we want to apply from China and move there together? To choose Canada or Australia is not an easy option
P.S. I am saying good bye to China this year. This question may not be directly linked with China but as we are living in China and there are lots of people from both Countries, I might be able to get good suggestions.
I'd have to say Canada but if I told you why, I'd get arrested and jailed for treason mate.
Australia, you can easily travel to third world countries from there. The weather is nicer. Both of their governments are great compared to the States.
I don't know. I find Canadians and Australians to both be laid back people.
Australia is warmer, Canada is colder (Summer's are warm though)
Both countries have a stable economy and social system.
Canada has totally different terrain than Australia.
Australia for weather, Canada for social system and cost of living (seems lower than Australia).
Matey... If your life long plans revolve around whether Aust or Can is best for you, then good luck, you
re on the right track......I've never been to Can, but I am Aust. Can's seem to be just a little too close to Yanks, although undeniably different, yes.
Look, what do you want?
I'll tell you this...Aust must surely be the most expensive country in the world. But the people and the honesty and the relative safety and the lifestyle might just make the price well worthwhile.
And they play proper footy there. No bullshit.

here here just make sure you back Queensland in the state of origin games
As offensive as this might be to my fellow Aussies, I'd actually say New Zealand!
If you're staying long-term, and going for citizenship, I believe it will be better for you for travelling.
The only downside is that there's too many kiwis there
DrMonkey:
I got only two weeks exposure to Kiwis, and after years in China... I found the Kiwis absolutely lovely, behavior-wise. Always helpful, polite and simple, either city people or farmer deep in the bush. My wife (Chinese) felt the same about the Kiwis, she never felt like she was some unwanted foreigner (that was North Island tho).
No doubt that Canada has some beautiful spots to see and generally the people are friendly and it's a relatively safe place to spend some time. It's certainly colder than Australia which leans me towards Australia, combined with the fact that Oz has amazing beaches, the friendliest people and a lot of culture if the Aboriginals turn you on. However...it is sooooo expensive...but it's a must go to..see place and those I know that have..have no regrets.
Cheers...they have a few good beers and wines there too..if that moves you.
I'm Canadian .............. had enough of Canada ....so no doubt in my mind, of the choices presented......Australia ......... never been there... ..but some of the blokes/mates or whatever they are, on here.... seem to have a sense of humor and a good outlook on life...my vote is AUSTRALIA ...................
thanks for the nice opinions or suggestion folks. We decided to try Canada at first. See how it goes for the first few years and move down under when bone gets bit older requiring more sunshine.
If I could get a job, I actually prefer New Zealand or Germany.
Australia:
Pros: Warm, beautiful, nice people, funny accent.
Cons: Nature out to kill you through fauna.
Canada:
Pros: Less deadly animals and insects, poutine, Quebec, cool people.
Cons: Cold. Very cold.
Coming from a snowy place, Canada has always had a place in my heart. Also, and I know this is stupid, but the more I read about Australia's fauna, the more I'm afraid to ever go there... So many insects...
