Q: Cancellation of Z-visa?

I´ve just resigned from my position as a teacher in a training school.

I´ve been working there for 1 1/2 years and teminated my contract 6 months early.

I left due to an opening at another school and there were no bad feelings involved (at least as far as I know)

Should I be worried about having my Z-visa cancelled?

My new contract (part time) has not been signed yet, as I am going on vacation for 3 weeks shortly.

Thanks

The visa you have was given to you to work at that school, if you gave the amount of notice required in your contract you likely can still get them to issue you a release letter and transfer your visaw to the new company, traveling while all that is unresolved ... well I would sort it out first but that's me ...

I know, but if you simply leave and don't get a release letter when that Visa expires good luck getting another one without having to go back to your home country..

Thanks guys - been very helpful.

I´m just gonna hold on to my pasport for now and enjoy my vacation back home.

I already have another job lined up - just had to make sure I´ll be able to enter the country again on my current visa. I´ll get my release letter when I get back and then everything should be ok.

Yah you'll be ok coming back... If you're going home why not get a letter of invitation and just apply for a new visa from home and solve the problem?

I have a friend here in China who can sort everything out in a flash (he owns a school and deals with these problems quite often)

It´s all good and now I can enjoy my stay at home without worrying about being denied entry in the airport.

Thanks again

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
