Wanting to change jobs sick of the current employer. From one Uni to the next. I have allready a visa and residence permit, but are they only matched to your original University or can you just join a different insitute, do all employers need a release letter bcause I have a reference letter from a University I worked and completed a successful year the year before. Is a release and reference letter the same ?

It will depend on the contract stipulations you signed with current employer. Most employers ask for 30 days prior notice if resignning, some ask for as much as 90 days. You must comply with that.
Once you have a new employer, get an offer letter from them, and with that go to PSB and tell them about the job change, with the release from your current employer.
A release letter is the one where the employer confirms that you are leaving them and futhfilling all terms of the agreement, a reference letter is one where your performance as worker is described in detail.
Yes and no. In most provinces the release letter and the recommendation letter have now been combined into a standardized release / recommendation one page form. In some provinces the old system still exists but in most provinces it is the new system that has come into place.
And no, sorry to the poster above, but if you leave your uni and go to work for another uni, your visa is tied to that employer as is your FEC.
Your new uni will need to process all of your paperwork at the PSB. I don't ever advise just waltzing into the PSB to advise them of things like that -- that is your new employer's job and doing so could cause you no end to problems.
First your new employer will need to cause a new FEC to issue. Then he will need to submit that together with all of his paperwork and your new contract to the PSB. If you have left your previous employer under relatively amicable terms, things should roll over easily.
If there are problems, they will most likely occur at the level of the FEB. If the school you are leaving enters a negative report about you, and if you are seeking employment in the same city, then that could be a problem.
