 How to Change my X visa to a Business F visa (Shangahi Resident)

Chinese Business (F) Visa is issued to an alien who is invited to China for a visit, an investigation, a lecture, to do business, scientific-technological and culture exchanges, short-term advanced studies or internship for a period of no more than 6 months.

Inside of China, according to the Chinese immigration laws, if you have already entered China with travel L visa, student X visa or working Z visa, it's not possible to change it directly to business F visa without leaving China. So if you have L visa, X visa, or Z visa, following are the legal way to change it to F visa and extend it then.

First of all, you need to find a sponsor, for example, your vendor, partnership or friendly company (registered in shanghai) who have business relationship with you can state you are the client of them. Then:

Step1: Get an official visa notification form, and bring the form to HK or your home country to get 30-90 days F visa, Document list for applying the official visa notification form:

1. Passport copy
2. Applicant's foreign country address and telephone number (need it for filling the application form)
3. Copy of the shanghai company Business License
4. Copy of the shanghai company Enterprise Code License
For 1-3 month invitation letter, above document is enough;
For 6 month Multi-entry 30 days each entry invitation letter, you need to provide 3 entry China record during the past 6 month.
For 12 month Multi-entry 30 days each entry invitation letter, you need to provide 8 entry China record during the past 1 year.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
