Q: Changes to Chinese visa paper work

I just put my application for a L visa to meet up with my wife and get my tooth fixed

6 years ago it was one piece of paper with half a dozen questions on it.

2010 was about the same.

Last year had 2 pages to do

this year 4 pages and a letter of invitation a copy of my inviters passport and ID card

the up side is you can fill in the documents then print them out now

good luck to my Step son as he is now Australian citizen

However it could be worse

Australia has about 10 pages to fill in.

Has the Chinese visa paper work changed in your home country  ?

I am just filling out the same form and have an appointment to lodge them tomorrow. I noticed on the form that there is now an option to tick a two year multiple entry option. No mention of this on the website but I am going to ask if I can apply for one tomorrow. I read it and the letter of invitation is only needed if visiting non rellos. As i believe you have rellos there all you need is to fill the box in with their details.

philbravery:

Un till you get there and then the security guard tell you to read the  sign that tells you about the other things like the letter and the copy of there passport or ID card

I will pick my passport and visa up on Friday and will let you know what happened

maybe they are better prepared in NSW

philbravery. I just got back from my visa application. The guy in the visa centre in Sydney said no problems for a 12 month multi entry with a 90 day limit each stay. I asked him about the 2 year multi and he said that as this is now my second 12 month multi entry and because my Mrs  is Chinese I should be able to get a two year multi entry 90 days each next time I apply. They are the same price as a 12 month one so there is a cost and hassle saving if you can get one. As happy said in another thread it is all about working your way up the visa ladder.

No letter of invitation needed. Just name and address of rello or inviting Chinese national.

Not me but just for the record I fly out in 12 days 4 hours and 10 minutes. Pity we are still a fair away apart in Nth China as it would be good to catch up for a Snow or Harbin or two.

Good luck with the visa.
