Sign up with Google Sign up with FacebookQ: Changing jobs, cancellation of my FEC
Dear all,
My teaching contract ends today and want to change jobs. But my current employer claims that my FEC cannot be canceled before it expires in a few weeks. It means that I will have to wait and won't have enough time to apply for a new FEC and residency permit before the new school semester begins. Have you ever had a similar problem? Do you think my employer is unable or simply unwilling to cancel my FEC?
Thanks in advance,
Boletus

Call the CFTU anon signing off with a name.
Now to give the correct answer to this question just in case.
You can cancel the FEC yourself, you will need the release letter and a form signed and stamped by your school in addition to the FEC. If anyone is looking to do this route, you must first go to an certain office of SAFEA (a Chinese friend can help you). You will get the form from there and bring it back to your school. Have them sign it and stamp it and then bring it back to the office with the release letter and FEC. You will get a small receipt but it will take 2-4 weeks to officially cancel. You can use the receipt to process the new FEC.
Now the school must cancel the FEC regardless but within 15 or 30 days of your last day worked (I forget which one). If they don't they could be in serious trouble with SAFEA. A phone call to SAFEA could help.
Your post is complete BS because what you state in it is just flat out wrong. (please no one correct him)

How dare you question The Honorable Boletus?
However your advice is sound, the CFTU will help by giving Dear Boletus an appropriate punishment for leaving his job. The price of failure usually can only be paid with the family jewels.
But the important thing is that Boletus will know justice has been served and be able to rest easy.
