i'm currently a holder of x2visa,the student one,but I got a job, which means I have to change it for z type asap. Is that possible to apply for z visa here,or I have to go out of china?

If you're in Qingdao, I'd look at going over to Seoul rather than Hong Kong. It's usually a cheaper flight and quite a bit closer-only an hour flight. That's IF you don't have to go to your home country.

SAFEA won't grant Z pick-up anywhere else but home country for the 1st Invitation letter.
You can apply for Z at Chinese Embassy abroad, HK (if you're lucky) or most likely in your home country.
There isn't possible to convert any other visa to Z in China.
To get the Z visa in HK you need to make sure that the official invitation letter is addressed to the Chinese foreign affairs office in HK. Your employer needs to request that.
Before you go too far down any road....depending upon the guanxi of your company (I personally know someone who changed from business to z), it may be possible to do it in-country, if not, take the advice of the other sage users here.

Yes, I have seen it and it looks just like mine. Admittedly, I can't read but it was a temporary working type residence permit issued by the entry/exit people. Yeah, I know, like rocking horse shit. Some shifu level guanxi at work.
icnif77:
Temporary RP exists, but one is not legally permitted to work/receive salary :
Types of residence permits
There are three types of residence permits that allow you to live in China:
- Permanent residence permits (little green booklets) are issued to those holding a D visa and are renewable every 10 years.
- Temporary residence permits are valid for 6-12 months. Generally required for visiting scholars or those entering for job training.
- Foreigner Residence Permits are normally valid for one year and are renewable annually. They are the standard residence permits issued to the majority of foreigners working in China.
iWolf:
You are correct. My mistake.
His is the same as mine: residence permit for foreigners in PRC. We compared them.
icnif77:
Working RP (last RP on the list) can come out of Z visa only.
Embassy issues Z, which must be filled and canceled by PSB in Gov.'s online database after FT get RP.
School must be authorized to hire laowai in order to get WP and Invitation later by SAFEA, both docs. needed for Z visa.
It's slim chance somebody could get Z by paying/guanxi at Chinese Embassy in FT's home country, and if no Z, there can't be working RP.
Chinese might not implement/have laws for Chinese, but I'm sure they are 'tied arse' considering foreigners with working permits in China.
''If RP holder exits China, one must announce exit and return at local police station. If you don't do that, PSB won't extend RP, and you must go back to the local Police, and get paper about filling 'exit and return'.'' My thingy this June at RP extension. PSB flatly send us away with RP valid only for the next 24h! I went to HK for two days in May.

That's all very interesting and I'm sure the quotes are the National law. As we all know the law is applied in different ways in different municipalities. Add a good dose of guanxi in the right place and off you go. I don't know if it is relevant but the guy i know who did this legitimately isn't a teacher and highly qualified and experienced in his high tech field and didn't leave the city. So it is possible but as i said earlier, scarce.
Simple Logic and also it is rule: You are going to change the purpose of stay ..so how you can enter with one purpose and can change the purpose in midway..and if you want to change the purpose.. it is mandatory that you should get exit stamp on your passport, apply for new visa according to your purpose and then get entry stamp and go through the residence permit procedure..
