Q: Child 44, seen it ?
... I gave it a 7 on my IMDB rating, so could be better. certainly worth a watch.
However, the society it portrays, could that have been China in the happiest of the Mao years ?
Before we watched it my wife said it had gotten pretty bad reviews "on the internet", well, the internet I read, it has gotten pretty decent reviews, so is China slamming such a movie ?
Never even heard of it. Not even seen anything about it online. But a quick search shows it has terrible reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 24%, and even Wiki says: "Critical response to Child 44 was mostly negative." so it's not a China thing at all. Sounds like an interesting story, but it sounds like they butchered the movie version of it.
I just did a search, and found pretty bad reviews :(
