Q: Is China Holistic teaching any good?

Heard some people talk about that technique of teaching English. It sounds all great on paper with a fancy name and all, but it sounds more like "practice as much as you can" type of thing. It can't be considered a method per se, can't it? Apparently, it is used several universities.

I'm always interested by new techniques of learning but this one seems more like the obvious wrapped around a catchy name. Not that I need English lesson, but just out of curiosity. China and its interaction with its partner is completely fascination. I love the country!

Since when do Chinese school systems implement holistic learning????

Unless you're talking about expat teachers coming to China and using more communicative oriented methods...

I heard some universities implemented that methods in some of their classes. But like you said, Alva, it really sounds like a marketing scheme expat teachers are trying to sell to differentiate themselves from others.

To me, it's less preparation, more free-for-all classes where all the teacher do is make students talk about anything.

Is there many scams like that when it comes to teaching?
