Q: China hosting the Winter Olympics 2022?

China is going to bid for the winter olympics in 2022. Imagine a winter olympics in China! (to be held between Beijing and Zhangjiakou). Brown, dirty snow with a polluted sky..

Remember the 2008 Beijing Olympics? They managed to clear the skies in time for the games by reducing pollution causing elements such as factories, vehicles and what not. I think they can do it again.

If the grass can be painted green the snow can be painted white.

Scandinavian:

probably not, but we have a 100000 sqr meter shopping center being built here in town, and it has a roof made up of giant LED screens. Do that and you can have nice sunshine without the nasty snow melting effect of real sunlight.

Olympics want profit, China have money. Result is: give olympic games to China.

Why is the Football world cup held in 2022 in Qatar? Maybe they are in top 5 football nations, or have long tradition of playing football and famous international clubs.

On top of all they have good climate for holding the cup during summer, no rain.

Doubtful, at best.  2018 is in South Korea.  I doubt the games would be in Asia consecutively.
