Q: The China Kroop

Well, the pollution, dust and other irritants in the air have given me the China Kroop. Nasal drip, causing a sore throat and swollen nymph nodes, along with the thick phlem cough.

Besides the obvious (going home), what methods do you use to cure yourself of the Kroop?

I have tried the over the counter drugs here with no success. Hot tea and water soothes the soreness for short time, but with no long term effects. Without the access to western meds, I am at a loss as to what to do. I really dread putting my health in the hands of the Chinese doctors, hospitals and clinics. I think they will just try to stick me with an IV bag and tell me to drink more hot water. But, is this the only way to get better?

Your thoughts please.

True Scandinavian. I guess I will become the "pot that called the kettle black". I hate the look of those masks. But, I think you are correct. I will just have to look like a goof wearing one for a while.

Scandinavian:

doesn't have to be all the time. I have bought Totobobo masks, balled up, they take up no space in a pocket, so only take it out when I feel the air being bad, well knowing that when I don't feel it it still is bad, but I am just eliminating the worst. Also, Zhuhai does have a lot of days with actual breathable air.
