I have a 10 mbps crappy shitty DSL from the great wall company that always lags and down most of the time. I am looking to change and China Telecom is offering 100 mbps fiber optic ADSL. Anyone of you guys using that ? is it any good ? I need it for pc / ps4 online gaming and movies streaming. If someone tried it and its not that good, can you recommend an alternative ?

100 mbps doesn't mean anything if your building only supports 10mbps! It all depends on your building's infrastructure.

Ha ha ha..tell me about it. After my building had fibre installed the salemen came around to upgrade everyone to 100m and assured us that it would be delivered. He didn't mention it would be delivered to the telcom hub nearby but the hub is a bit old and can't deliver it to my garden. I'm not sure if the upgrade i paid for is slower than before.
I am also using crappy great wall. It should be 50mbps but actually runs at 10mbps. Fiber optic is available in China now? Niiiccceee.
100 mbps ? I'd be sceptical.
I upgraded a few months ago and nothing at all changed. In fact, it seemed to be slower if anything.
Asked a few Chinese friends and they all said the super fast claims are lies to get more money. I tend to believe them. I don't use China Telecom but still...
Our office in GZ has China telecom fiber optic. Speed test results regularly come out at 80+ Mbps.....though some days it's bloody slow! What they don't tell you is the bandwidth into a building of 48 floors with 4 apartments/small offices on each floor! Evening speeds are great, day time can be frustratingly slow.
dur.... umm,,,, is it easy to conduct one of those speed tests on my home laptop?
