Q: China, third world, developing or developed country?
According to your own experience, in which segment you rate China? Third world, developing country or developed country?
Cold War terms, that are rather useless to describe modern reality. Shanghai and Shenzhen are first world, rural Yunan is third world.

I forgot to mention "the Chinese way"... Although It is way behind of a free and stable society.. but China is also way ahead of other so called "developing nations", and I believe there is more to offer for sure, or all of us wouldn't be here.

Regardless the classification, I also think that the country has almost reached its maximum level of development. I don't see any geometric progress happening in the coming years as it did in the past 20.
3rd world isn't really a useful classification anymore. When Nehru coined the term it originally had to do with Non-Alignment. The First world was the bulk of Western Europe and The US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc...; the Second world were the Soviet aligned nations of the Warsaw pact. Cuba, and dependent upon whether or not you view Communism as being monolithic, China, Vietnam and Cambodia. The third world were the non-aligned countries that were supposedly caught in the middle--although most leaned one way or the other. But with the Soviet Union deader than disco, there is no more second world, so why keep the classification at all.
China is both: it has super rich and dirt poor, modern technology and ancient structures still in place, binary codes and 3000 year old Chinese Hanzi,

Like most countries, up's and downs, haves and have nots.
Chinese CBDs look great, but it's a little superficial...outside of that...oh dear.
But i do love that most major cities have or will have decent subway systems, more than the west does. So well done China on that!
