Because for a long time people didn't have anything, and all of a sudden they feel they can.

Also because there's a real sense among the Chinese that nothing is more important than money and power.

I disagree! It's because air is much cleaner in the higher elevations....

earthizen:

Fly, fly and away. Ooopps.

"When CCTV, China’s state-run Central Television network, captured Yang Liwei (杨利伟) emerging from his space capsule, the country’s first taikonaut looked tired but happy, and certainly healthy.

But he did not return to Earth safely. As Andrew Jacobs reports in yesterday’s New York Times,

a design flaw had exposed the astronaut to excessive G-force pressure during re-entry, splitting his lip and drenching his face in blood. Startled but undaunted by Mr. Yang’s appearance, the workers quickly mopped up the blood, strapped him back in his seat and shut the door. Then, with the cameras rolling, the cabin door swung open again, revealing an unblemished moment of triumph for all the world to see........"

Nothing wrong with that. I see it as push to everybody else, who aren't no.1 ...yet!

This part about infrasound is the most interesting:

A scientist working at Sydney University's Auditory Neuroscience Laboratory reports growing evidence that infrasound may affect some people's nervous system by stimulating the vestibular system and this has shown in animal models an effect similar to sea sickness.

Women in uniform are so sexy ... military, police more than medics and others.

If you ever have chance to visit Liaoning in winter time, cops are all dressed in black leather uniform, women with cap, nicely done hair, regulating traffic in crossing, two at the time.

I used to stand on the side of the road and observe 'female fashion show' ....Female cops in Liaoning are all skinny, over 170cm tall, no different than models on Fashion shows.

If you would put the same female cops in western crossings, insurance Co's would benefit extremely, because of all accidents in crossings. Everybody would watch 'models' and none would pay attention to the traffic.

Chinese understanding of English is much different than standard is.

Chinese are going with bilingual signs all around China. In my opinion, China speaking and understanding only Chinese is another 'great wall', because foreign countries aren't familiar with Chinese language and characters.

OK, PSB building in Kaifeng, Henan is named 'CITIZENS HOME' as English translation of sign in characters above.

I argued with school's rep., that English name isn't correct and that name is used for 'home for elderly' or similar in English West, but he replied, Gov. wanted to tell 'PSB is very friendly toward its citizens', so PSB was named as 'home' to every Chinese citizen.

This all goes back to motive.  Is it just another face show? Probably yes --- show the world PRC is "connecting / catching up with the rest of the world".  Sticking up a poorly translated english sign brings a LOT of "face"? Yeah, right.  Better than none? Arguable.

On the difference between Strong and Great, tell them "I am a great teacher. I don't like to be called a Strong Teacher". The smarter ones should get it right away. Ask them, do you call Confucius a Great Teacher, or a Strong Teacher? (Ans: they all know it is Great Teacher, even in Chinese). Why don't you call him a Strong Teacher?

Can't really argue that, but me: 'I met students (who don't understand my spoken English) first time. Why don't you talk to Chinese English teacher, who taught them in Grade 9, instead?'

'Silence' from the Teachers Board .

They are like my mom. She can blame me for anything&everything. BuTT...all of them forget, they're talking to the 'excuses master'.

My chaps know the difference between Great Britan and 'strong arms'. I have book, from which School prints lessons on one paper for each student. One paper is good for 4 weeks of lessons, so some students trash it or lose it. Me: 'paper, page 15! Meiyou paper, pic with guy doing push-ups is drawn on the BB'.

I use it as a threat, but in few classes I called few notty students in front of the BB, and they had to do real push-ups with rest of the class counting with me: '1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 ....'. It was fun for the whole class, because student had to come to no. 10. So 'they are all familiar with 'strong muscles' LOL.

This has everything to do with their "strong" thing. In truth it is barbaric, uncivilized, uneducated behaviors. They are the masters of switching labels, labeling evil as good.

They are mocked as "strong country ren" ( 强 国 人 ) outside PRC, by those of ethnic chinese origin all over the world. You think other countries' "chinese" don't know about dai lu ren's barbaric, manner-less behaviors?  The majority out there, especially the oldies, are saying, with a sigh, "have to wait till all their older generations are gone". I take it they meant those above 40s.

Your experience reminds me of a doctor (western medicine) friend of mine, a skinny long leg one  who told me when she entered medical school, first class, the professor said to them, "forget everything you ever learnt about medicine, you start learning it here. Correct, when you graduate you will be brainwashed". Sounds like an experienced professor who had been frustrated by newbies with all sorts of medical myths in their coconut.

Maybe you should do the same with your students. With the authority, tell them "I am an English teacher. If you want a Chinglish teacher find someone else". Same thing with students, "I teach you English, not Chinglish". If they say (yes I know they like to challenge you with this) I don't understand you, just say, "this is why you are here, to learn something called English".

I write word as '- h - n -' and they must guess missing letters, so explanation of the word 'strong' and 'great' on your level is impossible.

I just had talk with Guizhou SAFEA (me 'strong') about few irregularities at my School. I asked her for her email address to explain the matter in detail, and she: 'No need for an email! I will talk to the School's rep and they will talk to you.' me: 'OK'.

I am expecting School's rep will ask me 'what's your problem?' at our meet afternoon, despite I told him about all problems several times, and he replied: 'No.' me: 'In that case, I must dial SAFEA and ask them for their opinion about my stance!' He: 'OK!'

"I want to teach my 10th Grade chaps phonetics (a, b, c, d). I couldn't make them ask ''Is it 'c'?" at 'Hang-man'. "

That is one the best thing you can teach them when it comes to verbal english teaching. Without this knowledge their verbal english would forever be flawed. Great teacher you are!   Insist on perfect pronounciation of  each alphabet. Those who get it should thank you for the rest of their life!

"China is different and understanding of English is also different."

The key lies in motive. Ask them why they want to learn English. If they don't know then a good answer would be  --- English is a universal language, mastery of it allows one to learn so much more. The majority of da lu ren have sunk so low that everything is about money; their surname should be changed to moneyscum. Their neighbor, another country with a population of similar size, is just the same. So is many so-called developing countries. There is a pattern here. This is why I consider straightening the kids' motivations is critical. For the ones who get it, it will change their entire life.

The reason is they can't even pronounce the 26 alphabets correctly. How the hell can anyone pronounce words correctly?  Now this really is the fault of whoever teaches them english. Careless and unprofessional I would call that. It is like teaching mathematics skipping a few numbers in the 0-9 range.

The best English teacher I have seen is a lady who insists EACH ONE, individually, gets A-Z, each alphabet pronounced perfect. She says 'a', then gets the student to say it out. She wouldn't let go until s/he says it perfectly. It is a class of about 40. They are 15 years old. I salute that teacher.

Yes, hangman is pretty stupid and boring for any 16 years old. It is an insult to their intelligence. They are not 5 years old cartoons watching kids. You are right, one must take their age into consideration.

Yeah I got that, but I had to try with something.

I go with easy word at first just to explain rules of the 'hang-man'.... Then, they guess the whole word, as 'China' .... Now, am slightly pissed and I am going with new one:

" - a - - a - "

After, I have 5 wrong letters, I gave them a clue-help: 'It is about the boy in our Classroom. It is not about the girl! BOY!'

I can't use 'male/female', because they don't know the meaning.

So, I am already drawing ears and nose and wide open mouth .... On the top of the 'hang-man' is written 'YOU' and they know, I am hanging them  surprise... so I have already 14 -15 wrong letters .... and then I full fill 'LAOWAI' into the 'enigma'.

They still don't get it, but once I turn toward the class with my tongue out, they start to scream 'laowai, laowai .... ' and point at me .....

Better nobody tells my mom, what I do in China ....

earthizen:

It looks to me you are an imaginative person. I am confident you can cook up something interesting for those 16 years old "kids".

Since you brought up the word China, here is something interesting about this word.

Guess what, some 1.4 billion folks got their own country's English name wrong !!!

How do you pronounce China? Ans: Zhōngguó.

So how come they accept China as the English name for their country?  Ans: It was given to them by the "West" !

They are so proud of their "strong" country, so angry, jealous of the imperialistic and corrupted "West", why still use a name given to them by the "West"? Change it to Zhongguo, stop being humiliated!

But then alpabetically, they would be at the bottom of any alphabetical list with countries like Zimbabwe as neighbors. So, stick with China or change it to Zhongguo, which is a bigger loss of face, which one brings more humiliation?

It is 2016. Who doesn't have problems? Poverty is a lame excuse for unethical, dishonest, criminal behaviors. You also don't see schools like Harvard lowering their admission criteria for poor students or allow them to cheat in exams. They charge them less by giving them scholarships.

Poverty is a big test. So many of the poor uses it to exploit, take advantage of genuinely kind people giving them reasons to continue their deplorable behaviors. "Cutting them slacks" and you end up having rich scums all over the streets instead of poor scums, that's all.  PRC is the living proof.

Your "cutting them some slacks" can be giving them free classes after school without lowering the standard of english teaching which is detrimental to their future. You can be a popular teacher with high standards. No contradiction there.

Today, they have more monies, which came too quick, so everybody is 'struggling' to have more and more. It's like an addiction to them. They would walk over alive people to get more dough.

Just as necessity is the mother of invention,  poverty is the mother of thefts, prostitution, scams, corruption....etc. The latter is actually a negative derivative from the former. Without laws you simply add robbery. Somali pirates being a living example.

Religions have their use. Generally speaking they tell you harming others is wrong.

PRC is devoid of religions, with laws few abide by, immersed in poverty and a violence driven ideology, communism for decades. Generally speaking, da lu ren beat their neighbors, that country with a similar sized population hands down in this regard.

While all this is understandable, it doesn't make them justifiable. The act of making excuses for them is not only detrimental to their growth, it  is like telling Somali pirates they are doing something acceptable and sustainable, or fueling cancer cells' growth. Not funny  for other inhabitants of the jungle.

Every country knows what a thief is, e.g. 贼 (PRC), voleur(French), Dieb (German), isela (Zulu)...etc., the their-understanding-of-English-is different argument doesn't hold water.

They don't consider it as 'cheating', but 'negotiating/bargaining' (at Contract disrespect/changes). They like to say: 'Chinese version of Contract is different than English and similar as an excuse'.

- Contract I signed few weeks ago carry 3 x 1/2 salaries as ''School's recess/holidays pay''

I know, School is managing new FEC and what not. One day, rep came into the office in hurry during the class break and: 'SAFEA told us, we must change Contract dates and here is the new Contract version. Can you re-sign it quick (without reading, LOL), because I have to catch bus to Guiyang in few minutes.?'

'Eagle-eye' look quickly over the new version (some 5-6 pages) and spot 'holidays salary' is missing (20k Rmb) and few other changes.

They don't consider that in Chinese as 'cheating/dishonesty', but 'negotiating/bargaining/having upper hand'.

- Contract state 23 classes +2 EC per week;

I am working 25 regular classes/week, no EC. EC is like a joke, I mean 'no lesson prep', but just have fun with kids, sometimes showing a movie to 20 students and regular class is 'lessoned' with 70 chaps in the classroom. Chinese 'understanding' is 23 reg.+2EC=25 regular classes!

- party B is responsible for traveling cost, i.e. arrival to the city;

I can't make online purchases with my Bank cards in China, so I asked owner, if she can book flight for me and I'll give monies for flight at my arrival. She booked, I arrived and offered refund (some 450 Rmb), but after she grabbed my ticket (and submitted to tax-office for operational cost): 'Don't worry! It's OK, i.e ticket is on me.' me: 'OK! TY!'

First, I wanted to travel by train/bus, but she insisted I should fly and she'll wait for me at the Airport.

Now, ME exam a month after my arrival is in Guiyang, some 4-5 hours by bus away. She insisted, I travel a day before and miss two days of classes. me: 'OK, but think ME and overnight hotel in Guiyang is on you!' she: 'Don't worry!'

I return to the city after ME in the evening, tired. I call rep about next day's schedule, and he: 'You can rest tomorrow and come for the classes next day!' me: 'OK, TY!' 3 days of missing classes for ME!

Next salary payment is short for around 700 Rmb. Why? owner: 'I had to deduct three days pay, because I had to pay Chinese teachers to replace you.'

She got tax refund for my flight to the city and then she took it back by 700 Rmb deduction for missing classes. ME and all cost for ME is School's responsibility! I let it go at the time, because she covered arrival flight, but now I have talk with SAFEA about other things and I want that 700 Rmb back!

'Negotiating-bargaining' by Chinese.

- at other School, rep signed Contract with me and I arrive with valid RP. However, School is in process to get 'laowai hire cert.' and I must exit China, return home and apply for new Z, because School is unable to extend my RP in 30-days after my arrival.

School purchase one-way flight home and return to China after I get new Z.

Return to China and finish the Contract. Me: 'Do I need to show you ticket for refund of return flight home or School can give me lump sum, i.e. 7k Rmb?'

Rep: 'We pay that to you already!' me: 'What do you mean?' he: ''I purchased 'return flight to EU', after you had to exit China in the beginning ....''

Me: 'You must be kidding? I had to exit China, because you didn't have 'laowai hiring cert.',i.e. 'School weren't entitled to offer the Contract to laowai.'

Rep told me before exit: School will purchase return flight for you!' I thought: 'OK, they understand they fuk-up!'

We ended up with SAFEA tell them I am entitled to (another) 'home flight'. Had vacations in Spain last year for refund I received.

Last one isn't 'dishonesty' but 'misunderstanding'. In China! ... by dealing with Chinese rep, who's fluent in English. In their mind that is 'negotiating'.

I could go on and on, and my conclusion is 'they pretend, they aren't aware of the English meaning and what not.

'Not in my house!'

I can 'smell' them from mile away!

On other side of the pole, I respect signed Contract to the 't'. Never 'drunk or 'missing classes', rarely ill, so in my mind 'fuk-it', if I can honour it, you must honour it, too!' It's more of the Contract respect than getting all my monies.

[I could go on and on, and my conclusion is 'they pretend, they aren't aware of the English meaning and what not. ]

This is called  thieves & robbers logic. Communists are famous for that. Why? They rob capitalists who "exploit" them, that makes violence and robbing OK.  They need some excuse to get off the stage, so it is not robbing, it is confiscating. If you want to make it sound better or heroic, you can call it Robin Hood  logic.  Terrorists also use this kind of twisted logic, so do cults.

If you have a cool head, you can easily see that it is a child's mentality. Ever heard "He made me do it" from kids?  It is never their fault. i.e. They never take responsibility, they are forever the victim. They don't have the brains to master skills necessary to earn a better living through honest means, so they resort to dishonest means, invariably.

Discernment is very important when helping the poor.

Feigning ignorance is the easiest of all. How many times have you heard criminals say "I don't understand what you are talking about" when being exposed?

Who do you think those kids' learn that from?

Speaking of that, you probably have heard of the Montessori method? If you have I have a question for you. I roughly know what their teaching methods is, experiential teaching.

The question: Someone told me they look at the parents VERY carefully, it is a key admission criteria. Not only the parents have to be rich (the school fee is "astronomical" relative to regular schools) but the parents have to be highly educated too. In other words, they don't take scumbags' kids. (Well, I suppose their rationale falls along like-father-like-son(s), plus, genetics. i.e. Don't waste my time producing "genius" crooks).

Do you know if this is true? crying

I worked somewhere in China (either Hangzhou or Tianjin) for Montessori kindies, but very short time .... so I don't really know, what do they do.

What I know, kids with better English than others have most likely parents either as MD or English teacher. Sometimes, I go: 'your mother works in the Hospital...' and kids: 'how do you know?' or 'No, my father is doctor ....'

I don't think, Montessori is doing it by the rule as. 'no scumbag's kids', but more 'kids English is better'.

Now, in China everybody does it (to me). Every school I worked, I had similar problem. In Fuk, Xijinang (I'd stay there forever and teach English) School was very happy and what not, but two weeks before 30-days RP extension/end of the Contract, rep asked me to sign paper in Chinese, where I could understand only '500 or 600 Rmb'.

I refused to sign it, because she couldn't explain the meaning of the letter. Later, I showed paper to Chinese buddy, who told me 'it's an agreement, that you will pay utilities fee (garbage disposal yearly fee or similar)...', but Contract stated 'party A is responsible for free apartment and utilities cost'.

After SAFEA was involved, School's excuse was 'Chinese Contract version doesn't match English translation'. BS excuse, they just wanted to rob me.

All schools, where foreigners worked in Fuk were on Gov subsidies for FT. Then, Gov didn't extend subs, so School went after FTs (me) ....

I had blast in that city, but I ended-up with that 'shit' in my mind ....

Foreigners in China make a lot more than us (Chinese), so 'let's go and get them'.

Every place I worked, I have similar experience, and by our thinking, I'd say 'you know, I was drunk or didn't show-up for the classes, so they want to get something in return', but I work in China without flops, so 'why do they do that to me?' Q appears ....

I discovered very early of my China days, how easy is to change an employer under Contract/RP in China .... because party A rarely or never respects the Contract, i.e. cut my monies and similar.

earthizen:

Thanks for telling me your experience with Montessori kids. I agree.

[Now, in China everybody does it (to me). Every school I worked, I had similar problem. ]

Not just schools. If you line up foreign tourists, teachers, businessmen, corporations who have been scammed the line ends in Saturn.

I didn't choose Saturn randomly. It is known as the planet of karma by a certain group. It would be real fun to see daluren are screwed in the future. Who would be their punishers?

Yeah, asking da lu ren to be honest and honor contracts (laws) is asking Somali pirates to become Mother Teresa.

Have you seen their businessmen tearing up a signed contract by both parties right in front of the other party?

On what ground does communism stand? Lawlessness and violence! Same as terrorism !

[...Fuk, Xijinang (I'd stay there forever and teach English) School was very happy and what not, but two weeks before 30-days RP extension/end of the Contract, rep asked me to sign paper....]

You mean Fukang, Xinjiang? They produce quite a few grapes, don't they. Are the grapes sour? (pun)   How do you find the girls? My impression is they have darker skin. Desert arid climate, too much sun perhaps?

I generally like remote places like this. Inner Mongolia was good. I drank with the Mongolians, sang, watched them dance. They were good drinkers and generous. The Hans have sunk sooooo low. To be honest, I don't think anyone can beat them, counting backwards that is.

Yes, Fukang, Xinjiang, comet's site, LTA. Loads of rare earth metals in Fuk.

You mean Uyghurs have darker skin? Yes a bit, but not such a big difference, Caucasian look. However, they are very closed society, very, very friendly thou. They liked me, because I used Uyghurs (few words, 'TY', 'Hello' and few others). I can't remember any Uyghur's at the moment (it's raining ) words, because 3y ago....'rahmet'-TY....I think.

And Han in Xinjiang are mostly settlers from not too long ago I'd say, and they are also closed community, i.e. I (we) look like Uyghurs to them.

Outdoors market: one side Han, opposite side Uyghurs, each stall runs its own music and 'competition' who can play it louder....

Bigger cities in Xinjiang are like Tier 1 cities elsewhere in China. They aren't that big, but modernised the same way.

Also some Kazakhs, Uzbeks and other ex-Russian nationalities.

They wash the roads twice per day in Fuk angel.

Xinjiang is China, so ... nobody can beat Han's birth rate ...

Discrepancy in my mind: 5-6 Uyghurs students per class and all Chinese teachers. Few Uyghurs employed only as guards and School's maids ....

I'd do it a bit different: 'preserve Uyghurs as special nationality in China, by treating them the same as Han ...' It's China anyway, so why worry?

The one thing CCP is worried to death is Uyghurs independent activists.

It is not just Uyghurs' conflict with the Hans, but Hui. Xinjiang has a history of political trouble dating back to at least half a century ago.

CCP has been lax with the Uyghurs and Hui (which fight like cat and dog among themselves?).  It is kind of, "aiya, you guys just live in peace, I just wanna PRC to be in one piece" kind of logic.   And CCP religious freedom, building mosques for them. But there is something about population. I think CCP encourages Hans' population to grow by favoring birth polices. This is CCP's "trump card". Use human flesh to infiltrate, to invade any place they target. Tibet is another example. Then there is the TIP (Turkish Islamic Party) thing, backing Uyghurs (and Hui too) to go against China. Russia, next door, of course can't resist joining the party. Who says the more the merrier is a universal truth?

The fact is that violence in Xinjiang has been on the ascend since 2010. Something is going on.  This Muslim business goes all the way to al Queda and Syria, that far!

It is funny to hear you talking how the Hans and Uyghur have different market on separate street. Skip the part about "we vs them", the food they eat are pretty different I suspsect. Muslims eat a lot of mutton?

This Muslim business is reaallllyyyy messed up. I will go and do a c&p about the message al Queda sent to Ulyhurs later.  I don't know about you, I am amazed at its emptiness, lack of reasoning, just allah this allah that.

I enjoy reading your description of Xinjiang, btw. What is this business with the photo below? It says these are Uyghur being lined up in Thailand, waiting for repatriation back to China. Do you know what this is about?

al-Qaeda support for Uyghur militants<

1- Who are we? We are a group of workers for Islam and the Mujahideen for the cause of Allah to save the worshipers from the worshiping of worshipers [so that they can] worship the lord of the worshipers all over [the world] in general and Turkistan in particular. [This group] arose so that its members could cooperate on tawhid and purity and Allah-fearing and jihad for the cause of Allah, so as to liberate East Muslim Turkistan from the infidel Communist Chinese invasion and repulsing its invasion from religion of the Muslims and their honor and souls and money so as to establish Allah's pure religion, and empowering the Islamic Shari'a in Turkistan, and cooperate with the Mujahideen Muslims in the name of Allah all over the Muslim world to restore the wise Islamic caliphate and empower Allah's Shari'ah on the world. — The Media Center of the Turkistan Islamic Party.[298], Charter of the Turkistan Islamic Party ~ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinjiang_conflict

In generally, I don't go too deep into that, because it's China, and it's none of our business, at least none of mine! But, that's how I saw it.

I read about Uyghurs in Thailand, but matter is between China and Tai, so ....

I dunno, why outside market is separated that way. It looks, they don't like each other.

Muslins ... I'd go work there few years ago, but I couldn't stand listening loud shitting (which I don't understand) 5 times a day. 'Loud' is the most what bothers me!

I live in the new building, which is getting occupied and it's very loud. Drills, hammer bangings and similar. They wouldn't stop even at 10pm, when I must take earplugs off to lie down. It pisses me off, too.

Last week, apartment above me had party at midnight or so outside of their apartment. Few adults and some 3 or 4 5y old kids. I went out and scream: 'STFUp! .... Please!....' Some words back in Chinese and they shut-it off.

I feel the same with loud talking on the phone inside the bus!

It's not only religion, but just getting into my private space/ears!

Yeah in Fuk, area of some 10 high rise buildings and in between is lawn-park-like. At Muslins holidays, lawns are full of goats ... Then, I imagined person, who lives on the 20th floor or above, get his/her binocular and dial the sheep-guy on the floor: 'Hi, I am Xiao. I live on 25th floor, apartment no. 201. I want the grey one by the swing. Not the fat one, the other one... Yeah, that one! How much is it? OK, bring it up!'

Then, after the floor guy gets the right animal, he kills it (they have makeshift butchers board on the floor) and deliver it fresh on 25th ..... I don't think, only Uyghurs get sheep for holidays. I'd say, Han order it too, because lawn is full of animals. Just imagine, any bigger city in China with 10 high rises and lawn full of holidays animals....We talked with Royceh about that. He lives (or lived) way in N. Xinjiang.

Uyghurs sell military gear binoculars on the outdoors market. Big knifes, hatchets and similar. No prohibition whatsoever. Binocs must be for 'order-to-go' from the high sky...LOL

Fukang only has about 220,000 population. 71% being Han Chinese, the rest being Uyghurs, Hui, and other minorities. Confirms my suspicion with CCPs population infiltration tactic.

Wow, you managed to find a job in such a remote small town?  Must be pretty undeveloped I suppose. I have problem finding a few photos of what your description of it looks like.  Not even one which is unusal! All I can find are a bunch of natural scenic photos of Tian Shan (the snowy mountain).

Your comment about how you can live there indefinitely ---- I can see why. If you don't have to work, finding a nice location away from the crowd, closer to nature, that indeed is a pretty good choice.

I quite like the altitude of that spot, from 500m up to >4000m.  Many choices. Moving higher up is the fastest way to get away from air pollution. Another thing that catches my attention is the water source, 6-7 rivers from Tian Shan where the glaciers are.

I am like you when it comes to this cat and dog fights between daluren there and the Uyghurs, can't be bothered except as a bystander knowing WTF are they bickering about, that's all.

The location, however, is of strategic importance given the way this planet is heading....so thanks for bringing this up. It is useful info. and one can be critical to survival. If you have read ScotAlan's question on global warming and my response you would know what I mean.

The majority of daluren are still sleeping.  I  asked a few so called university graduates, none of them are aware of the gravity of the situation. The best answer I have gotten so far is, "yeah, I heard about global warming.....but the impact is hundreds of years away....long, long time.  Another way to say it is "I don't give a shit". The only shit they care is how to get the hell out of PRC, preferably with a suitcase of cash.   The means are completely irrelevant.

The truth is, from what I can see the duration is a LOT shorter. The experts in this field all know it. Every time they release a estimated time of impact, rate of acceleration of co2 in ppm, the number of years is always shorter than before. One thing 9 out of 10 of these brightest brains on this planet says is, "we are likely to have underestimated the speed, because as scientist we have to be conservative".

Is this the kind of picture you saw from your "home" when you lived in Fukang?  At least you don't have to wonder if it is rat meat you are eating. I know, b/w, so few photos about Fukang ! Which is good news and let's keep it that way. Very interesting phonetic sound, wouldn't you agree?  During your stay did you tell your mom or friends back home you were living in Fu*K*ng PRC?

I don't think, 200k residents is right number. Fuk is very small city with some 200m DT area, outside market and that high rise buildings. Two hotels and that's it. Loads of farms and nature just walk outside the city.

I was buying milk of the farmers in plastic bags on outdoor market. I am into yogurt (making my own) and it was strange, yogurt would stick to the spoon like a spit. So, something was wrong! Cows were all skinny, no grass (it's desert), so where does milk come from? Kazakhs were mixing cows milk with powder milk, mastards, but everybody was buying their milk, and only I knew that's mixed with powder. Yogurt gave them up!

There's some lake close-by (can't remember the name), but I've never been there. I asked Chinese teachers how is there and then few days later, they invited me for the trip and cancel it next day.

I got that job by Chinese placement agent. 14 classes/w for 8k Rmb/m, 2 holidays pay (4k each) so 10 salaries X 8k, return flight and big (2 bedroom, huge living room, bathroom with western can), bottom floor apartment with the garden (some 25m2).

School wanted to stick 2 FTs in, but another one never arrived and I told School few months after I moved in, they must write 'apartment sharing on the Contract', which I would never accepted, so 'as soon as you get another FT, rent another place'.

We had 3 or 4 Primaries and 1 High School with 4 FTs (2US, 1Ozz and me). I also met two Scottish fellows as 'interns'. They weren't paid anything and just drink&fuk.

Global W.: 'I am not that much into it. I feel the same as somebody would ask me: 'Can you stop the rain or hail today?'

What can I do? Technically, Earth is getting smaller and smaller by growth of population, so GW is by-product. New planet is needed soon or major war, which will cut population ....

Yeah, I was wondering about the figure too. The first figure I saw was from wikipaedia, I surfed a bit more and found a chinese info sheet on fukang, which gave me the figure.

"Fukang (Chinese: 阜康; pinyin: Fùkāng; Uyghur: فۇكاڭ, Фукаң‎) [1] is a county-level city in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Its area is 11726 km2. and its population in 2007 was reported as approximately 1.5 million.[2] Fukang is located in northern Xinjiang in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, north of Urumqi." ---- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fukang

This sounds more like it, right? I will go and get some photos for you. Fukang is supposed to be very close to TianShan, a well-known mountain. It is all part of the Himalayan block.

Global warming, there is no doubt about it. Unless you live in Iceland where the weather is indeed getting colder due to some weird reason, most can see it happening right under their nose. As you say, ain't nothing you can do about it which, is sadly true.

It also has become irreversible already, scientists have proven that. Too much co2 in the atmosphere.  Even stopping every harmful thing we are currently doing with fossil fuel burning earth's temperature is going to keep going up.

Population is another death nail for planet Earth. Spot on!  7 billion has exceeded Earth's capacity for optimal functioning. The entire ecosystem has gone haywire. The rapid extinction of quite a few species is a fact. You see, 99% of the meat we are eating is from rear cattle, chickens, cows, pigs, fishes....and plants too. You need no scientist to tell you what kind of food is better, human grown or those grown by Mother Nature.

This is Tian Shan.  Now, it is supposed to be this beautiful. But you know, you can never trust da lu ren.  F**k, they don't even trust each other!!! They know what each other are like!!! This is why I want to ask you if you have been to this area.

Also, I have added the wiki link to the passage. You can see if it is the right Fukang we are talking about.

It's very difficult to say as 'walker'. I was using local bus to go N of the city and there is only arable land with some forest and hills, and S of the city there's more of the city, but not compacted as in other cities in China.

So IMO, no way 200k. They might count few districts/cities together, but I didn't 'walk' that.

You are a good writer and I enjoy reading your descriptions of places.

I went to Guiyang years ago, non business. They didn't even have one single 3 star (international standard, not theirs) hotel in those days. However, exactly because of that the environment on the outskirt, about 3 hours drive from city center, was pristine.

Do tell what it is like with your present habitat. The climate of Guiyang should be quite nice, cool, even in the summer, and certainly not as cold as Xinjiang during winters, right?  Would you say the same thing about Fukang --- makes a fine permanent habitat, with your present habitat in Guizhou?

I have very special road bike (Ti/Al frame, Shimano Dura-Ace group set, 7kg total weight) and I can't stand rolling some heavy Chinese '2nd-hand-banana', but when I was in Fuk my bike was still in my mom's cellar. I ship it to China some 2-years ago.

Parts of the bike were hand picked and assembled by me in Cape Cod. When I run that 'bullet', sound coming out of the bike is like very fine Swiss time piece, and if I have wind in the back, it's pure sailing .... on the road.

I am a bit speed freak, so not many bikes on the market today can equal my 'wheel'. Maybe, Colnago with Compagnolo group set .... for around US$ 7-10k. I posted pic of the bike here on some thread with my pillow in the back. I always travel with the pillow ...LOL

Everything in Guizhou is on the hills ... brand new School in vicinity of my apartment, where I have 2 classes a week has 215 or so stairs from the main road to the 3rd floor with 'lucky me' top of the building on the 4th.

After I arrive to the classroom, students don't talk to me for few minutes, silence, smiles and me panting....

On the top of that, Chinese stairs are 'short'. I don't know, if 'short' is right word, so I'll describe: 'if you look at two stairs, distance from top of the bottom stair to the top of the 2nd stair is some 10-12 cm .... in West, same distance is some 18-20 cm, so for the same hight difference, you need less stairs.

All roads here are fenced, so you can't just cross the road anywhere you want like in 'normal' China. Traffic crossing/4 roads in DT, you can cross to the other side of the road only over the bridge: 'go straight, walk-up some 40 stairs, cross (the road) over the bridge, walk down another 40 stairs and 'voila', you are on the other side of the road.

I don't even go to DT anymore. I mean, even if I am in DT, fokit bridge, I jump the fence (some 120-140 cm height), and cops ignore it, because 'no-laowai-language'.

We also have cops tow trucks for unlawful parked cars circling around the city. We do 'LAW' in my city!

Outdoors market is blast! Farmers are selling anything they find in the woods: 'wild bees honey with hive still attached', filtered honey taste like something else, I mean you can't get that in Supers in China. Last time I got spoon, hand-made out of one piece of wood.

We have Wal-Mart with nothing western in it. They have NZ butter and some EU cheese, cheap wine, however I am still stacked with butter&cheese I got last time in HK, when I lived in Henan.

When I go for groceries shopping to HK, I travel with empty, huge luggage wheeled piece and I return with full-of-groceries.

I am not sure, will I stay or no. Students are very friendly, but owner of the School is 'bleatch'.

I warned them and I told them, what I want (just stuff from the Contract), answer: 'No!', me: 'Then I must call FEB ....' she: 'OK, call them!'. Big 'guanxi' shit.

Now, FEB called School and owner yesterday's text: 'when do you finish?' I tell and she: 'Call me, we'll have a meeting!', then 7' later new text: 'I have another meeting! i.e. cancelled'. Today's text was only 'when do you finish?' and nothing else.

Me thinks, that's 'face' eating her alive ....

Temp is like +5*C at night and day time is some +15*C, no Heilongjiang's long underwear needed here. Not too cold overall!

We can rain here ... when it starts, it never stops! Lightning&'boom' is extremely loud, same feeling as something would explode in neighbour's apartment. I guess, because of high elevation, i.e. 'we're closer to god', LOL.

I am not a bike fanatic but my neighbor likes to bike treking. His bike seems pretty sturdy, nothing fancy with appearance but one look you know it says quality. Made in USA, the brand is Giant (company founded in 1971). https://www.giant-bicycles.com/global/about-us

I also notice they are quite popular higher-end websites , normally under "moving sale" section. I will attach a photo at the end of this comment for you to take a look at it. Loading that website is a bit tricky as they immediately load a video with the launching of the website. If you don't have enough memory or whatever, click "esc" button and you can skip the video.

Very vivid description of your bike!  Now that is the kind of bike I would expect of a quality bike.

The place you are at, wow, now that sounds like some remote part of Guizhou. The Wal-Marts in China is like Carrefours, you just hope they have slightly better quality food and fewer fakes. I don't suppose you have MacDonalds /KFCs/Starbuck?

It doesn't matter one bit as far as I am concerned. The honey you mention, that matters. You know one thing about honey? They don't rot (unless you spit into them on purpose but no one sane would do that). 20 years they last, easily. They are the favorites of many other animals, from ants to bears. What does that tell you? Good stuff!

If I were you I would grab as much as I can while in Guizhou, as Guizhou is a key producer of herbal medicine, meaning the place is filled with plants of high medicinal value. Bees there should produce high quality honey.

Sounds like a bunch of fairly well behaved kids you have. Similar to Xinjiang, Guizhou is also well known as the province of minorities. There is something really "weird" with the female culture there, historically. Women based, or in charge. Matriarchy, a rarity. One woman can have multiple husbands simultaneously, and it is a norm. Most people only know Guizhou girls as utterly dishonest (as well as poor) but there these are everywhere in China, what makes Guizhou girls the nastiest is, I believe, their women culture. Now that truly is cultural difference. To them it really maynot be anything to have multiple bfs, and husbands! So.......if you don't know about that and get yourself one.....and you expect loyalty like the majority in the rest of the world do, you are in for some surprises.

You also lived in Henan? Wow, Henan, the toilet bowl of China? Zhengzhou's air pollution....the winter smog.....if you want lung cancer fast, that's where you go. Also, they say no taxi drivers is honest, none. Sounds like real hell! Also, smart of you to shop in HK for food. Just visit Michelin's website and count how many restaurants in HK are on their list. What more need be said? Below is a Giant bike.

I can't comment, so I'll go for 2 extra pints: The worst in ZZ is Bus Station. There are several main Bus Stations, but bus for Kaifeng departs only from one ...Once, it took me some 6h to came to the right Bus Station, 'cause also no English among ZZ-peeps.

Dishonest woman (toward the man) is very personal matter. You can't generalise it. Yeah, I read somewhere that in some minorities here woman is the boss of the house ...

I have feeling there's too much bad publicity on West (USA) in China-news, so Chinese women are 'safer', if they turn head away from laowai, similar as mothers with son. You'll never get woman's peek, if she has son. It's much different with woman with daughter.

We don't have KFC/McD, at least I didn't see it anywhere. Loads of all that in Guiyang, some 4h bus ride from Bijie.

Giant frames were all made in China .... That's mountain bike sort off. I hate pushing bike uphill. My handlebar resembles bull's horn and seat is some 10cm higher than handlebar, so when I am on the bike my ass is higher than my head, similar to water drop, i.e. 'aerodynamic'...pure speed.

earthizen:

Matriarchy, just remember the term.  It isn't a big deal if it remains in a certain sector, as everyone in that sector know it. It is like cannabalism, truly it is no big deal for members of that tribe. But if you fall for a cannabal and you aren't, you are in for some cultural shock.

I do believe you can generalize, how else can you have cultural differences? To have a culture, you must have certain attributes that make it unique, so you can differentiate it from another culture!  How on earth can you have two cultures if you can't generalize (within a certain culture)?

In that case I would go for those made in USA Giant bikes. Usually well known brands only shift their lower models to countries like china.

I notice this with sound systems. Companies which shift their production to china suffer a sharp drop in quality. Their price drop, but so does the quality. Sound reproduction is not as easy as it looks. At the end of the day it depends on how important the product to you is.

Road on the bottom of my apt. building is packed with cars at 8:00am&7-8pm. All audis , trucks, 7million taxis, all rushing somewhere, bumper to bumper and horns. On other side of the road is huge Gov. building with park/lawn/flags and some 15 apt. buildings...and in the back are hills...not outskirt looking.

If I would have car here, I seriously considered to change, either into 'new shoes' or 'move out of the city'.

Guizhou had some guanxi/mafia style associations a year ago, but cops sort the matter, so no diff. than Dalian with 6M in city residents. I walk, so fuk it, I might don't see entire area ...

Kids in the classroom all with big mobiles, some with i-phones, clothes they are wearing all with English text in Chinglish ... not poor, whatsoever.

If I would part-time here, 250 Rmb the lowest per class. It isn't poor area, but hilly. If I run bike and come to the hill road, I carry the bike ... 7 kg total weight, no big deal.

Which "Audis" / "iphones"are you seeing everywhere in Bije, though?

As early as the 1990s you can have a "Mercede, Audi, BMW" ..... they saw off the body of some "originals" (even that part is doubtful) right under open daylight and put it onto some local shit engines, in PengYu, Guangdong. Huge spaces there, electronic fakes "city", furniture, ..... size of a football field for EACH !!! It is 2016, imagine what they can do !!! Rest assure they still money and face !!! In fact, as you say earlier about how it is an addiction, I would say it is 100X than the 90s. You don't have fake milk, rice, gutter oil in the 90s !!!

This is the latest Audi A4 model, the next photo is its long lost "twin brother".  You can put any label on its "twin brother", including Audi A4 !!! As for the "iphones" they are pure mickey mouse stuff.  Face, face, face....ONLY.

This is the website. This one needs a LOT of ram memory to open as the photos in there are high resolution. You may need to close a few tabs to see these photos.

This city isn't much different looking than Dalian 10-years ago. I'd say your pic was taken some 10-15y ago.

No pets on leash, but people don't look poor. You can often see Porshe Jeeps (my boss has one, used) and all other top cars.

It's developing area with Gov.'s building being occupied some 2-years ago (guess) and high rises (some 15) 6 being fully occupied. Big Kindergarten in between high rises ... Kinder is open, but builders threw all waste material by the end of the Kindies parking space. Horrible looking out of my balcony, but in few months, they'll run the digger and cover all shit with beautiful lawn...

Chinese are very practical, i.e. 'short-sighted', by not thinking that water coming out of the faucet had to run through the covered garbage area first. When I open faucet in the kitchen, you can smell chlorine in whole place, in other words 'we are very healthy/protected ...'surprise.

I'd say, Chinese bodies can be different than ours because of all shit they ingest.

If you travel from Jixian to Bj, you can see plenty arable land with all trees and plastic bags hanging off ... I guess, they started with all that in autumn, when trees look too empty .

Chinese don't pay attention to the earth they live on ... 'Just cover and if nobody sees it, it doesn't exist.' ---->'face' stupidity!

On the back of the Gov., is Shopping center with Walmart, million convenience stores, inside hand climbing panel/wall with ropes attached, some 30 m high, so you can switch to rope climbing in the middle of the wall. Beside the wall is big kids indoor playing area and all that is in the passage between different big stores (on one side of passage is entrance to WM). It's packed on weekends.

All this will come to the poorer looking crowd on the outdoors market .... in some 5-10 years from now.

icnif77:

I am having an extensive and complicated dental work done on me 'upper' chew. Implants, fakes and similar.

I started in Kaifeng with University's dentistry professor and her colleagues in I'd say, poor 'work-shop'.

Then, I moved to Bijie and Chinese teacher brought me to the private dental shop .... with quality dentists. I can tell by being son of the dentist.

It's some Chinese dental chain ... Surgeon for implants installation surgery came to Bijie out of Bj. It was funny, because he arrived with his family and his kids wanted to practice English with me sedated and in pain. I could 'produce' only corny smiles ...

By now, I had more than 20 visits and I am close to the end of the work. Every time any procedure is done, there are some 15-20 pics of me chew taken, beside all regular work.

Last week I was on the chair for 2 hours, MD measured my mouth with some special tools, which I never saw before. 'Smile', 'serious', 'open', 'close' and similar. He measured something inside the chew by taking some 20 different parameters. Then, another extensive pic taking.

I guess, he took measures, because he (or somebody else) is making fakes.

I showed chew's X-ray pic to my niece/dentist and she just commented: 'Why so many implants? and added: 'It looks good, overall!'.

I want to say, procedure here isn't shy of the same procedure in HK or any T-1 city on the mainland. Price '1/5th of the EU price' and working dentist in my family!

So, your city's pic is old. Bijie will become very modern town in 5-years time.

That was why I said there were few photos on Bije on the internet. Now I know another way to tell if a place is well traveled, the ease of finding photos on it.

Actually I was already wondering about the clean sky, it looked a bit too unpolluted. That photo was from photobucket, part of an album. It looked like it was taken by someone who lived in Beij, years ago.  If you click on wikipaedia's clink you will find that it doesn't have a photo on Beji, which is unusal.

This is a photo of Guiyang, this one looks more recent. A lot more buildings than when I was there, but also a lot more dirty (sky).  See that layer of pollutant? More later.

We don't have railroad to the city, just bus and plane. I think, building of G railway is underway from Guiyang to Bijie. That is maybe reason, why area isn't visited more by tourists.

The famous thing close to Bijie is 'Azalea Park', and it's full of purple colour flowers. Apparently, visitors come to Bijie just to see that flower.

This high speed railway map is updated in Sept. 2016. I don't see Bije on the yet to be completed section, other cities, yes. So as you say, maybe a G-class lower speed train.

The good thing is, Guiyang to Shenzhen is fully operational, and Bije is only a couple of hours from Guiyang. When the westbound continuation (to Kunming) is completed, presumably within this year then tourism should go up. That said, the quality of tourists, how civilised they are....is of concern. I heard that the locals of Kunming really hate local tourists (i.e. from other provinces) and prefer foreign tourists.  I don't think it is just a matter of money, but the behaviors and manners too. Cheap is cheap, rude is rude, stealing is stealing, every country has these words in their own language.

Click the map to open, click again to enlarge and see the individual stops. Ever been to Yunnan? The climate is said to be quite nice all year round, generally speaking around 20C.

Guizhou where you are, the Guiyang area, according to wikipaedia, has a high rainny days figure, like 200+.  Now that is quite a lot!  Wow, you carry an umbrella over 50% of the time? [edited: I found Bije on the map, a couple of stations NW of Guiyang]

My biggest problem with rainy season is 'carry your umbrella all the time', what makes my bag 'heavier' ....

Guiyang is already connected with G-train, but traveling from Bijie to Guiyang is longer than 4h by bus. Once you are in Guiyang, it takes another 4h or so to exit in Shenzhen, so that's LOL....

Yeah, Kunming  being the prime city of Yunan province is bound to be more expensive. How about other smallar cities, maybe half a day by bus, away from Kunming? These places should be less expensive and less crowded? Ever traveled to these spots? IF you have I would love to hear about them.

I really don't know, how to properly write 'phonetic sound' of the word. I usually 'describe' my own sound just by using regular letters.

I am thinking, I should look into correct 'phonetic letters', because Chinese teachers and students all write and understand only correct phonetic letters.

I write on the BB 't-i-i-i-n' at word '- teen' as 'long sound' for difference of '- ty' phonetically 't-i' as 'short sound'.

Chinese only have problem with 'how to say it correct' and I always 'write&show/tell' my phonetics.

This week's lesson I have is 'possessive pronouns' at 'he', 'she', 'it'. Students pronounce 'her' as 'hier' or 'heer', so I go with 'her', 'hair', 'here' and show them different meaning and pronunciation at all three words.

At 'her' 'follow me' as 'h-rrr-rrr-rr' .... loads of laugh, when I make them say 'h-r-r-r-r-r-r-r' ....'cause they must sound as they 'gargle', what is very difficult task for Chinese.

I got something for you on fake iphones since we were talking about fakes yesterday. I asked a friend who was a mobile phone fanatic (don't ask me, I don't know why). He said of course, plenty of them in prc.

I then asked him how to tell a fake vs real iphone, "can you tell the difference by naked eyes"?

Answer: Next to impossible if you just look at it, power off. But still, it is pretty easy to tell when you power it on.

1).  Fake iphones use Android, not iOS.

2).  You look at the color of photos, images, ....etc. Fake iphones are clearly inferior when it comes to this.  This works only if you are familiar with real iphone such as using one yourself, obviously. If you are a MacBook or iPad user that may help.wink

I can't comment anymore, so 'pints' reply:

Estimate for the fake teeth installment was around 70k Rmb. I picked the most expensive 'ceramic' implants&fakes. I had airport's metal detectors in my mind, when I declined 'metal' implants ... bastard always beeps, despite my pockets are empty .

But, yeah by now I paid 60k Rmb already and as dentist told me, final price will be around 74k Rmb.

In my 'real' country, MDs are everywhere, mastards! That's one of the reasons I don't live there! LOL

Regular diabetics are required for detailed 'blood-&-many-other-things' exam every 3 months once.

My glucose is generally always below 6 Mmol (140 US measure) and I check glucose once or twice a day, and not as required some 5 times a day. I am also required to keep notes about my daily glucose levels and insulin intake.

I am so versed in my thingy, that I am changing (increasing or lowering) insulin intake by myself, which normally only 'endo-MD' is certified to do.

Last time (2013) my 'endo' read lab report, she called me 'MD'!

I am not making it up, butT... you are talking to the 'beast' here .

In real, I consider myself 'lucky', 'cause diabetes is very bad disease ... 'silent killer of the body organs from the inside', if glucose isn't treated well!

Now, if you would be MD, all stats above would tell you, I rarely drink alcohol!

Alcohol is 'death' for diabetics!

Add-it: What's the point of lying under 'anon' cover?

It is just an excuse so as not to lose face, letting her parents take the blame, although it is true that her parents are also moneyscums. There is also a fair amount of Somali pirate complex, "I rob/steal because I love my family (while conveniently forgetting about themselves)". Excuses of the incompetents with a twisted psyche.

When confronted the "smarter" (actually sleazy) ones would say, "If you love me you also should love my family".   Pretty tricky. Just say, "Sure, I love them the same way I love my parents who brought me up, not yours".  The key here is responsibility. "You are responsible for your finance and looking after your parents, as I do with mine".

If you are desperate it is difficult to see through the veil, because you keep inventing excuses for their behaviors. This is something so simple every girl in the world knows. Whether you choose to blind yourself because of your internal issues, your desperation, decides what you get in the end. What did that chap who ended up in Elba say, you are your own worst enemy?

No, I 'learned' all about 'fee' from my Anshan GF. She has sister, who's translator married with US dude from New Mexico.

I was in Guernsey, when we met. I came to China, because her English was bad, so I thought her life will be very difficult in English speaking country. I spoke to one of my USA buddies about 'what can I do in China', if I don't speak Chinese, and he said: 'You could teach English'. Then, I hit on TEFL course, finished in few months, and departed to China.

I had BS with teaching visas and RP, so I said to my girl 'let's get married', so I'll avoid 'working visas BS'.

I was coming closer and closer (with my jobs) to Anshan. It was trouble for me, because Liaoning is one of the Provinces in China with requirement of 'Native English teacher' for WP.

I came to Dalian, the closest to Anshan and then we split.

My girl asked me for 30k Rmb for her daughter's High School enrolment. My reasoning was: 'I work in the School together with Chinese teachers. Why I wouldn't ask them for the best School suggestion and if that tuition price is OK?'.

However, my girl wouldn't tell me the name of the School with 30k Rmb tuition.

Then, she stopped answering her phone and I stopped dialling and moved to Xinjiang.

That wasn't request for tuition, but 'fee' for her father to give 'yes' to her.

Hope you mastered the lesson, because more coming if you don't. wink

On paying for sex, that is a very sad thing for both parties imho.  There is one type of personality that is all for it though, the warmongers with gamblers' personality.  Their issue is extremely deep seated and the mentality is unalterable.

As for diabetes,  it does have serious consequences at its later stage and the patients keep getting younger in recent years, all the way down to teens.  Any experienced doctor can testify that.

Medically the treatments exist but they do not address the root causes sufficiently. Generally speaking, do you find life bitter and this has lasted for years already? If that is the case from what I can see, good news, you are on the right track and have a good chance of getting rid of it, for good.

I am LTA diabetic (type1), first discovered as 3-m old baby, but the matter somehow recede and I was without any problems (glucose <than 6Mmol) till around my 25thBD.

Then, MDs said I must go on insulin, but I rebelled angel.

I refused the whole thing, because MDs said, insulin treatment requires discipline, i.e. 'wake-up at 7am, have a breakfast and similar'.

I was returning to me bed from the bash, drunk at 7am .... surprise, traveled around the globe and similar.

Around 28th BD I had to go on insulin, because my glucose was very high ... no choice!

However, lucky as I am, there was no permanent damage to my internals (eyes, liver, veins ...), and since then I am a model patient .... I hate going to the Hospital and I dislike MDs, too ....! LOL

Wow, you took on some serious challenges this lifetime, happy soul.

Do you know why the bitterness of life comes up? Glucose, its shortage and consequential great demand for. Diabetes is there to remind you, constantly, to remain happy!  It looks to me you are doing a fine job at that.

"I need woman's brain, beside everything else for the complete satisfaction"

The "everything else" include skinny legs I presume. LOL. Unfortunately, it is extremely rare to find both co-existing in any woman.

It is not just cultural differences or schooling. Do you notice women, generally speaking that is, think differently than men even at an early age?  Now I am not talking about the warmonger gambler type, they are like an entirely different species regardless of sex. Male we call bastards and female bitches, that's all.

At a reasonable sized party, be it school or company, ever noticed that women tend to gather around in groups, and men with their own corner?  If you go listening to both groups you will find the topics completely different, down to the way they think. Then within each group (of both sexes) you find sub-groups, talking about topics members of these sub-groups are interested in.

What does that tell you?  Sorry, man, your wish (a fair enough wish, for both sexes), is unfortunately not that realistic.  To put it simply, just look around, how many girls (from morons to genius) don't like to read gossip magazine (movie star news, their personal life, .....etc.), and how many guys like reading them?  Let me know if you want more example. No, I am NOT telling you to be gay, or girls to be les. Don't get me wrong!

'You took some serious challenges .....'

Such a 'challenges' you don't take, but 'challenges' just come on your way. Later in your life, you think 'I took it!', but it was just my 'No' to MDs in the Hospital and in my home...LOL...My mom: 'He's different ...!

Being 'gay'?

I learned very early in Primary, that ass is 'one-way-street', i.e. ''you can get 'ticket', if you go in .... '' as driver's course teaches.

It wasn't confirmed by my she-Biology teacher ....

Yeah, we are different, buTT .... 'she' are attractive, so you know, they yapp and we like to watch tennis ...females only!

No, I gather with 'she-s' on the meetings. I have word or two with men group, but then am consistently moving toward the other corner.

In SF Fin. district, there are few restaurants with tables and barrels outside. You should see that! Meiyou corners, women and men together downing kegs of Kostrizer and Heffeweizen after 6pm till ..... after the hard day of work.

Nobody can TELL you to being gay, if your believes of 'one-way' are firm! LMAO

Sorry, to 'bi-posters' and I don't mean posters with 2 handles ....

SF ---- those after work gatherings are for hookups and/or intelligence gatherings, so of course you see girls/guys mingling the way they mingle in bars looking for one night stands. The fundamental differences in mindset still remains, hidden and covered by other motives, be it sex or career advancement.

Philippine  --- same category as PRC. Those people who asked if you were gay were no different than cannabals asking you why you didn't eat human flesh! They could also be jealous of you just the same, as Filipinaos are well known for leaving their family behind and go anywhere to dig for money because they are so poor. As I said, poverty is the mother of jealosy and hatred. They are slightly better than dalurens though because they have some religions teaching them "cannbalism is a no no" kind of teachings.

Do you know, what is the biological reason Asians have different eyes than us?

Rice is the most likely culprit .....

Man comes home after the long day of work and wife serves him a dinner .... with rice ...

Then on the 77th day, after man sits down and look at his plate, he 'buries' his head into his palms, while still looking at the plate and says: 'OHHH, this rice again ...'

Their eyes eventually get into the position as they are today ......  ... by C. Darwin.

icnif77:

In the heat of the Cold war, 3 guys met (USA dude, Russian & Serbian) and talked about the size of their manhood ....

American grabs his inner leg's muscle and say: '.. you see ....'.

Russian dude goes: 'Ohh, that's nothing and put his elbow into his crotch, point at rest of his arm and says: 'Mine is just like that!'

Serbian was a little shy and embarrassed. He hesitated to show his .... and other two were encouraging him: 'Cmon, what about yours? Show us yours! 'Cmon ....'

Serbian finally gave-up and say: 'I must wrap mine 3 times around my belly and 3 times around my neck .... and still hangs like tie ....

Chinese Torture

A young man is wandering and lost in a forest when he comes upon a small house. Knocking on the door, he is greeted by an ancient Chinese man with a long gray beard. "I'm lost," said the young man. "Can you put me up for the night?" "Certainly," the Chinese man said, "but on one condition. If you lay a finger on my daughter, I will inflict upon you the three worst Chinese tortures known to man." "OK," said the man, thinking that the daughter must be pretty old, and entered the house.

During dinner, the daughter came down the stairs. She was young, beautiful, and had a fantastic body. She was obviously attracted to the young man as she couldn't keep her eyes off him during the meal. Remembering the old man's warning, he ignored her and went up to bed alone. During the night, he could bear it no longer and snuck into her room for a night of passion. He was careful to keep everything quiet, so the old man wouldn't hear. Near dawn, he crept back to his room, exhausted but happy.

He woke to feel a pressure on his chest. Opening his eyes, he saw a large rock on his chest with a note on it that read, "Chinese Torture 1: Large rock on chest." "Well, that's pretty crappy," he thought."If that's the best the old man can do, then I don't have much to worry about." He picked the boulder up, walked over to the window, and threw the boulder out.

As he did so, he noticed another note on it that read, "Chinese Torture 2: Rock tied to left testicle." In a panic he glanced down and saw the rope that was already getting close to taut. Figuring that a few broken bones was better than castration, he jumped out of the window after the boulder.

As he plummeted towards the ground, he saw a large sign on the ground that read, "Chinese Torture 3: Right testicle tied to bed post."

How did they get so strong fire under the shovel? Something isn't real at that pic. You need very, very strong fire to heat the shovel on the temp. for 'over-easy'....I'd say, in real they should berry shovel into the fire or coal to heat that up. That's the reason, BBQ panel is netted.

See the fire? The fuel they were using probably was military grade. All you need is time, it would get done.. Obviously it was a fun experiment, too many soldiers there to use two shovels, they must have had other cooking utensils for regular outdoor training.

If your  shovel is so thin you can 'over-easy', it's too thin for digging, 'eagle-eye' told me .

I saw similar umbrella on vespas in Fujian, not on person. Women in Fujian ride scooters in mini skirts. I use to call them 'I can see your undies, la la la'.

Fujian is different, so umbrellas are also different.

Umbrella pic is from 1951 or so ... did you know, you could get your pics carbon  dated? Also?

earthizen:

If you notice the shovel's shaft is short. They are obviously designed to be portable, not the kind for construction or farming.

I know the kind of umbrella you are talking about. The ones they use in Vietnam are very well designed.

Yeah, it's military shovel, portable, but you can dig holes, while holding a gun in the same time. However, it's very thick and you really need to stand close to Appolo's launch to heat that steel for 'over-easy'.

'Your' eggs might be different too. I heard, there's new '0ver-easy' chicken breed , i.e. chicken is quiet and egg comes out without shell ... need right shovel, thou I have class in 15'...
