Q: Is Chinese culture being uprooted?

Watching the olympics and how they are unfair and diresepectful to China, which should have the most golds by right and virtue of having the most people counting on them to win got me thinking, what else is unfair to China? In my opinion, it's not fair that teachers here come from other countries.

The two largest western powers bear the responsibility for having this dance of learning involve the whole globe. Canadians come in their ships from North America. Turkos and Senegalese negros from Africa. Poor Hindus and Ghurkas, bronzed by the sun of India, lie freezing in the classrooms.

Lastly, Australia and New Zealand are sending their contingents. And what could be the purpose of such a world-wide levy of teachers? Why...Chinese culture is to be uprooted from the Earth!

I was chatting with ScotsAlan on wechat earlier and he'd been on a supplier visit with a Chinese colleague who used to be a part of my team a few years ago.

The Chinese guys reason for China doing so badly? The judging at the competitions was biased against China! Now there's blind and stupid patriotism in action for you!

expatlife26:

right, they are probably using faulty watches and thickening the water to make sure that Chinese athletes only come in 3rd place. And to the english. The english they had laughed at.

If you want unfair to China.

All the developed world is moving the production to China, thus creating glots of low paid jobs in China at the expense of the environment.

Did you know that a lot of the container ships that carry iPhones and shit from China sail back loaded with things like old circuit boards that some poor sod will dismantle without wearing a face mask.

Cheap production in China is in fact not possible without human cost. Productivity per capita is tragically low and THAT is a culture thing. And guess what. A fully automated production facility has the same cost for salaries if it is in Luxemburg or 清镇市.

Certainly the CCP bears no responsibility in the unfair treatment of China.

what is Chinese Culture?

earthizen:

The real one is something like this..... the jokes website is probably Taiwan or HK judging from the characters (authentic / traditional) used and style. When they use the word Chinese, they aren't thinking of daluren/mainlanders.......

Chinese Delegate

At the final dinner of an international conference, an American delegate turned to the Chinese delegate sitting next to him, pointed to the soup and asked somewhat condescendingly, "Likee soupee?".

The Chinese gentlemen nodded eagerly.

A little later, it was "Likee fishee?" and "Likee meatee?" and "Likee fruitee?" and always the response was an affable nod.

At the end of the dinner the chairman of the conference introduced the guest speaker of the evening - none other than the Chinese gentleman who delivered a penetrating, witty discourse in impeccable English, much to the astonishment of the American neighbor.

When the speech was over, the speaker turned to his neighbor and with a mischievous twinkle in his eye and asked, "Likee speechee?"

You mean that delegate made fun of the Chinese like heavy accented Guangdongren make fun of the White guy when he speaks near perfect Putonghua? Well you get the fruits of your own seeds.

Yup....sow and ye shalt reap.  Go ahead, make it your day, retaliate and humiliate whatever-ren who messes with you. You're right about Guandong ren, generally speaking their putonghua sucks, but so are provinces like Szechuan, Hunan....etc, even Beijing and Shanghai.  Unless they are professionally trained as broadcasters there is bound to be some local accent.

Heck, so what if they're professionally trained? Look at their background, the ones who speak authentic, traditional Chinese, MANDARIN, have left PRC!  If you hear Taiwanese speak Mandarin, the intonation is so melodic, so soothing, that you immediately notice a huge difference if you listen carefully and have good ears. This is especially the case with Taiwanese girls. Wait till you hear female TV/radio...etc. broadcasters in Taipei speak. AND, in private when they are with you and have a good impression of you. Boy o boy .......if you are a guy...........

BTW, only daluren call their version of spoken language putonghua, outside PRC it is called Mandarin everywhere else.

Here is another joke from that Taiwan/HK website.  9 out of 10 locals can't get the L and R pronounced correctly, you probably have noticed this.

What did 5 China men say when they jumped out of a janitor's closet?

Trump says the election is fixed if he does not win. A western dictator might be fun Smile

expatlife26:

Do you really think trump is going to win? I dont think it's even going to be close.

But that's a good reason for anyone who doesn't think Trump is a good idea to get out and vote. The smaller that man's share of the overall vote total the more his bitching about it being rigged will fall on deaf ears.

Plus I dont think that guy really wants to lead a coup, he's just a narcissist and wants a way out psychologically for the loss.

Trump has a chance. I would say its 50/50. Fox news said yesterday that it is a good thing Elizabeth Warren was not running. Lots of voters who don't normally vote. They will vote trump. Lots of democrats who do vote, they might not turn out for Clinton.

Fox news is not a credible source for trump having or not having a chance, they have an explicit conservative bias so their game is going to be "the liberal media polling is flawed!"

...which may or may not be true but understand that regardless of whether they have a sound reason to believe that, they would be saying it anyway. They have to. because that is the position they have staked out.

They aren't any better than those economic doomsayer blogs that are often linked to here. They are garbage even if they are right, because they aren't observing the conditions and making a conclusion they are going to say the same thing regardless of the facts.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
