Is anybody else a little bit touched when a Chinese person shows keen interest in something you're doing? I've had several such instances in the past few weeks. One such instance:
I was playing ultimate frisbee with some friends at Chaoyang Park (Beijing) and a guy in his late 20s-early 30s came up and started chatting with us about the game. He asked me to teach him how to throw a "flick" (forehand) and we threw back and forth for the next 20 minutes or so. Not an hour later, a group of kids similarly interrupted our game and proceeded to be so absolutely adorable (2 year old holding a regulation size frisbee) that we didn't mind babysitting them for nearly an hour.
It doesn't happen often, but these few little instances of friendly curiosity really make my day. Anyone have similar feelings about this?
I always get curious questions about why I bother to use my seat belt when either driving or riding in a car. "Why you do that? No need, have airbag! Keep you safe!"

dude i was in a high way in hunan, and a truck broke down in front of our taxi, well there was no way around the truck since he was in between lanes like an idiot, but even worse our driver decides to go on the oncoming lane, well at this point im a lil scared so i put my seat belt on and my friend says to me " thats so stupid nobody does this in china" well there was a reason why i sat at the front since only the front seats have the seat belts lol but i didnt bother to argue since no1 in the taxi would agree with the seat belt thing
Yeh, I had some friends follow me into the kitchen after a meal once to see how foreigners do the washing up. Apparently I waste water.

Some people think I'm silly for using a towel to dry off the dishes instead of just leavin them soaking wet to air dry with dirty water stains :)
