Q: Chinese girl with Foreigner Men

What do you think about Chinese men with Foreigner guy ?

I heard that many chinese men feel envy about it.

I am not talking about Shanghai girls only, but saying about chinese girls around anywhere of China.

I think that you subliminally let the cat out of the bag with ''What do you think about Chinese men with Foreigner guy", I don't but it's fine for you. Chinese women around anywhere in China are mine, leave them alone.

I think that people should be with who they want to be with, regardless of their nationality/race/color/mental disorder (yoga)/music preference. If a white guy falls in love with a black girl, and vice versa, then more power to them. Likewise, if a black dude falls in love with a blue girl... ok, no smurfs... I draw the line at interspecies.

Don't feel envy. Be glad that someone found love. If you can't be happy for others, you'll always be a jealous wreck.

I fall in that category, and I don't think much about it, really. We have a different background, but it's not a barrier at all.

Once in a while, some local man will (not discreetly at all, saying it loud next to us) say something like "Why women go for a laowai ?!" when seeing us. Maybe it's insecurity. My wife have *no* patience for this crap, and will tell them they are rude. And it never went farther than that.

I love how the Chinese men who claim foreigners are stealing their women, are the kind of men no women actually want.

I think mixed relationships are here to stay. Actually they should just be called relationships.

There will always be some that look at you strangely, and I do think the disapproving looks happen pretty often, but they are just that. Looks. If people want to get upset by their own simplemindedness, should not stand in the way of other peoples happiness.

What's with you? You first asked about having sex with an 18 year old Chinese girl. Now, your question is about a "Chinese girl with foreigner men". The next line you ask "What do you think of Chinese men with foreign guy" and if "Chinese men envy about it". I don't know man. You want to have sex with a Chinese girl or a Chinese man, which is it? Or do you prefer a duck?

Here we have an original, thought-provoking inquiry into the desires and preferences, the jealousies and annoyances of men and women. This should be interesting. I will stay tuned.

Why do Chinese always have to do this impersonating thing? Can't they ever ask a straightforward question without implying that they're someone else? It's so compulsively sneaky. And the grammar is such a big giveaway - after how many failures do they realize they can't succeed in the impersonations?

Anyway, TedDBayer gave you the most profound answer, but it was hidden, so I'll help you find it:
"What do you think about Chinese men with Foreigner guy ?"
"I don't"

When I was 18, I first moved from a rural village to a university city (Amsterdam), I was similarly shocked seeing white girls openly dating black guys. My rationalizations went into overdrive, and I had about 1.5 year period of racism before I finally accepted to let people live and let love. The important thing was that the community demonstrated adult response by example, and after a while I got tired of my own unaccepting stubbornness.

Chinese people's problem is not just that there's so few interracial relationships to challenge preconcieved notions, but that few people demonstrate adult responses. Without examples of good behaviour, a change of heart must come from within. That's very hard, especially for herd-mentality Chinese. Few Chinese want to be pioneers in ethics, and originality is hard to come by.

In my opinion, China needs MORE interracial couples. Much, much more! On the streets, living next door, on TV; visibly in-your-face. Let the xenophobic opinions reach an apex, and let people be shamed into showing decent responses to fellow human beings, just like I was.

I think one also needs to consider the Chinese definition of foreigner.

I know a woman who married a foreigner, but she was dissapointed their baby did not have blonde hair and blue eyes.  "Where is your foreign husband from?" she was asked.

" Hong Kong", she replied.

" Erm, do you mean Chinese HK?"

"Of course ! ", she said. " But he is foreign so the baby should have blue eyes".

True story.

Anyway, I am sure there are some guys in Hunan who consider fellow Chinese from Henan to be foreigners. It's all relative to the individuals own opinion and mindset.

Even in a city such as London, which is probably the most culturally diverse place on earth, bigots can still be found.... and they are most likely to be men from country A that object to women from country B going with hermoaprodites from country Z !!!

Only education, experience and time will eradicate bigotry.

This is a question i ask older students in class when talking about relationships:

would you consider marrying a foreigner.

most (especially the guys), react with horror at the thought of dating/marrying anyone who is not Chinese.

some of the girls even go so far as to say they would never marry anyone who was not from their home town.

most foreigners i have met, myself included, have no problem with the idea of a cross-cultural relationship. The most important thing is compatibility and respect, not race or cultural background.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
