I have also heard that rumor a few times, but somehow, I do not feel it is totally true.  Each day I see dozens of Chinese girls and ladies seeking a foreigner for a boy friend (or a lover, as they call a future husband).  And many of them feel and express the opinion that they are better off with a foreigner than with a local in terms of the way they are treated at home.

It could be partially true that some Chinese men may fell that a girl who dated a foreigner was "spoiled", but I do not have enough on hand experience on it to make a useful opinion or statement.  

It would be interesting to see what others may think on this subject, hopefully from Chinese Ladies here.

Perhaps a foreigner's outlook has been passed on, and thus it changes the girl's perceptions of the world... in a way that makes the locals look stifling.

We treat girls differently, and as a guess, in a way that is better (though, some may argue, worse... depends on the guy). We also tend to have more money than the local boys (although, obviously, not always).

We also tend to introduce new things to them (food, for example).

And, of course, we have a far better understanding of what makes a girl tick, sexually speaking.. our experience really does count for something!

The Chinese girls that date the foreigners can be more physically attracted to westerners compared to Chinese as the same way westerners are attracted to Asian girls so that can be a major factor that they now only want to date foreigners.  i also  would say the Chinese spoil there girlfriends more than westerners as we used to doing 50/50 at restaurants for example, where as a Chinese man will pay for everything and alot of his wages on her compared to what a westerner would so i would not say this is a reason why they do though.

I have absolutely no experience with this myself but my friend whos a 28 year old female feels this way. She gives me the impression that the chinese guys overall are just below those that have grown up in the west in terms of manners, chilvalry, values, etc.

I'm a chinese guy... but i grew up in Australia and i really do believe this. THats not to say that all chinese men are like this, and not even the rich vs poor, but its something that they might get from their chinese upbringing

As a Chinese girl grown up in America I have a strict policy only not to date Chinese guys.  My parents were and still very traditional Chinese parents growing up, even though they've been in America for more than 20 years.  I've had many friends who are Chinese with similar background as well as been to China to visit several times.

There were several reasons behind my decision not to date Chinese guys.  First of all, I find that the Chinese men's decisions are often based on what their parents want, same with Chinese women.  Even my parents try me into making decisions I don't want and may not be the best for me.  If you don't listen, they consider you not to be a filial son or daughter and try to instill a tremendous amount of guilt so you'd do what they want.  Luckily I've been able to make it clear what I want and don't want and there are times we've had to agree to disagree.  So anyway, most often than not Chinese guys would not go against their parents wishes.  While I am not purposefully looking for a rebellious boyfriend, I am looking for someone with independent thinking who is confident in his own decisions and can stand up to his parents and say no if needed and I find most Chinese guys lack that ability. 

Also, since I already have one set of parents who want to control my life, why would I want two?  The boyfriend's parents would probably be less understanding since I'm not their daughter and pressure me to have kids when we get married even though I don't want to, to do housework after working 60 hr weeks, want to live with us, etc.  This is less common in the US but is still known to happen a lot, especially if you marry someone who just recently came over from China and did not grow up in the US.

Treat a Chinese girl who dated foreigner( as a whore in some sense is partially because of conventional conservative thought. According to the feudalistic tradition, single lady should not have sex until they got married. Even though the open policy is on for 30 years, the solid soil of such traditional thought is still spreading over the country, including big cities. In that case, if woman had sex before marriage is not allowed. Many young woman never told the truth that they are not virgin any more to their parents and their parents will be proud of that. As a native born chinese girl, I do think it is really stupid way. How could we get to know each other well without sexual relationship?

Secondly, having a relationship with a foreigner has a long story. The first foreigners came into China is around 1990s. At that age, people had suffered in the misery from cultural revolution for long and tried to find a way to get rid of that situation. Foreigners at that age were rich, knowledgeable, a good channel to bring Chinese young girl out of China. For looking for foreigners, some college girls went to work at hotel as waitress or call girl even worse. Some worked, some not. These women was the first generation of being called traitors or whores.

However, with the development of economy, some of us are getting better in living situation. We paid more attention to our dressing up things. To date a foreigners has turned to a new trend, especially for the girls whose major are English, French... Most of them started this relationship from language partner, then beneficial partner. I need to point out that not all the Chinese girls can afford this beneficial relationship because some of them are still looking forward a mix marriage, like having a mixed-blood baby. Large proportion foreigners are still in good financial situation by far so they became the target of these girls. In the view of looking, Asians always think that white person are with good looking. So generally speaking, it is a trend. The problem is these girls didn't realize what would bring them between the huge culture difference. By far, we can still hear some rumor from public instead of criticized them as whores. In my opinion, people who commented this are jealous because we still agree that developed countries are better than China, not matter in what aspect but food.

Most recently, things is changing in every aspect. In big cities, after observing life of mixed marriages, people are getting to accept it. There is an old saying: Marriage should be matched. Here I wanna say the distance between Chinese girls and foreigners is getting closer and closer. Many girls were educated overseas, open-minded and independent. So to date a foreigner is not a motivated behavior. I'd prefer to say a natural chemical thing. For me, I haven't heard the rumor for a long time in big cities.

other than the physical and sexual performance issues it is also because of the mind set. if you come from a country like us, uk, aus , can etc. your taught that men and women are equal in the marriage. also you are taught that there is no excuse for bad behavior. 

the thing i seem to hear a lot from chinese women is "it is ok you/he is a man" people here seem to think it is acceptable for men  to be rude, piggish, obnoxious, arrogant and selfish. so when women get a taste of a man who is well behaved and respectful to others it will scare them or open their eyes.

this one i have actually struggled with, some local women absolutely refuse to make decisions for themselves. they are looking to be remote controlled. in a relationship with foreign men (usually) there is more freedom of choice

im gonna through these 2 points in late. china enslaves people's minds by telling them how they must behave (women more so). an example of this is women should not smoke. so when a chinese women meets a foreign man it can help her to be comfortable and accept her for who she is. 

foreign men are more encouraging than judgmental . so she could talk to her foreign mate or friend more openly about her problems. 

the bottom line is this when you're mind and body is exposed to great and wonderful things it is difficult (impossible for some) to go back to living with your brain in a cage. 

The one of the big reason is that they like the features of the foreigner  mans.Actually they get attract of them allot than any Chinese man.some other reason could be as well as , they have more freedom , get lot of new experiences and  have a fun.i think ,they feel bore of being with Chinese man, nothing special, just a robotic life.

THIS IS AN EASY ONE TO ANSWER. ESSENTIALLY THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF FOREIGN GUYS HERE IN CHINA.
TYPE ONE WILL DO ANYTHING OR SAY ANYTHING TO SLEEP WITH CHINESE GIRLS AND LOVE TO PLAY AROUND WITH NO REGARD FOR THE FEELING OF THE GIRLS THEY ARE WITH.
THE SECOND KIND ARE GENTLEMEN AND HAVE A HIGH REGARD AND RESPECT FOR THE GIRLS THEY DATE, DON'T PLAY AROUND, ARE COMMITTED AND LOYAL.
IT SIMPLY DEPENDS WHICH TYPE THE GUY IS. TYPE ONE AND ANY GUY, ANY NATIONALITY WOULD BE BETTER. TYPE TWO AND IT WOULD BE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO BETTER REGARDLESS OF NATIONALITY.

I have dated with foreigners ,but also Chinese.I think I like Chinese better because of the culture background.Chinese boy makes me feel safe and steady.
