Q: Chinese guy marrying foreign girl - stigmatised??

Question: would there also be some sort of stigma attached to this? How would most Chinese parents and grandparents react if their one and only son came home and wanted to marry a foreign girl?? Would the reaction be different to the reaction of a Chinese girl marrying a foreign guy?

(this comes off that other thread about the subject... but taking a slightly different angle)

I have not noticed this much in china, but in the states, my brother in law is Asian and my sister is hispanic/latina. HE gets some grief from the other hispanic/latinos and my sister gets it from the asian community.
Now, I do not know if snide remarks are made like when a Chinese girl is with a Westrern man.

I am married to a Chinese man. I must say that I never heard my in-laws making any sort of comment about him marrying a laowai. Not even when they are drunk. Actually...the only time i saw my mother in law drunk (at the wedding) she even said to my face that I am a good daughter in law and a good mom. We do have issues sometimes, especially about the upbringing of my son. We even have had some serious arguments, but I never heard a negative comment about me. They were just happy that he finally found the person he wanted to be with (I think the possibility of him not finding a wife scared them more than the reality of having a foreign daughter in law. big time)
