Q: chinese language used in jiangsu china

If I will be hired to teach Physics in English language in any city of Jiangsu province of China, how should I easily cope up with the difference in language with my students? What is the Chinese native tongue of my students?

You must be Native English teacher (hold passport from Big 5) in order to get Working permit in Jiangsu.

You're stating, you'll teach Physics in English. What is a difference to you, if your students native language is Portuguese?

I read once blog of the poster Juanisaac, where he wrote Jiangsu residents speak a bit different Chinese, but that classifies to dialects.

I lived and worked in Jixian, Hebei for a year. Chinese there always say 'zhi bu dao', and never 'bu zhi dao' like elsewhere in China. I survived.

TAP is Portuguese Airline. Do you know what TAP stands for in English?

You teach physics in English. No worries about the Chinese language in class.

In Suzhou they never use the "Beijing R". Otherwise fairly standard Chinese.

Your students will likely know enough English to communicate with you. Don't worry about that.

I am in Wuxi, Jiangsu.  The people speak Wu language in this part of the world, which is totally different to Putonghua (Mandarin), but I believe it is banned in schools.  Everyone can speak Putonghua though.

The best and most effective way is to communicate with local people. This method of studying Chinese is adopted by hanbridgemandarin, after do that, you will make progress fastly. When you teach someone, you also can learn something from him or her.
