Q: Chinese medical practice -- tonsils

Just had a little "row" with my wife. She has had a sore throat for a couple days. Drinks hot water Then she went and got some "medicine", partly because I gave here a hard time about being "sick" again. . I never get sick but constantly get shit for my smoking and drinking .. the packet says "Levofloxacin hydrochloride" and the other one does not say what it is but that it is for "pharyngotonsillitis".(tonsillitis) Me, I would prefer to suffer for a couple days if I get a cold or the flu. (I have no tonsils) and hope it goes away Some lemon, cinnamon, honey, chilli in my warm water maybe. some or all of them in my liquids. some more vitamin c maybe. Rest and relax for a couple days... all good!!! the question that I wonder about is, "why don't they remove the tonsils? another thing that came up while we discussed this was circumcision....here they do it a t puberty 13-14 is what she told me............. Feck that ...day one!!!!.. I even booked a vasectomy at one time and chickend out of that appointment. anything changed in the last 50+ years.... is there a use for tonsils? or a foreskin?

Tonsils are part of the Lymphatic system, and help fight infections.

Why in Canada and the USA do they carry out so many circumcisions? In the UK it's either for religious purposes or definite medical need.

primarily as a deterrent to masturbation

in general i notice people dont want to just tough out sicknesses. its all about going to the doctor and getting some kind of treatment.

Better to go to a dirty hospital with other sick people and get a IV bag full of...probably saline and a ground up vitamin C tablet, than to just go to rest until you feel better.
