Q: Chinese men easily intimidated?
I settled in Beijing not long ago, and so far I must say men are... shy. I start talking to them and they tend to lower their heads in shame, like I'm their boss or something. I'm usually easygoing and a very cheerful person, so I never had problem making someone comfortable, but it seems to fail big time since I arrived. Any suggestions for help?
Get em drinking and they have more courage than is prudent.

Thank you too, Wenna, for the piece of advice. However, i'm not the woman who would find refuge somewhere else when in front of adversity. From my very short experience, I find that most men are shy/intimidated, so I take it as a personal challenge to correct whatever wrong I am doing, if I make them uneasy.
But by browsing this website, I can sure as hell say I'll never be a submissive kitchen dweller wife!
