Q: A Chinese motorist just gave me the index finger.
I was waiting at a crosswalk and he screamed "WAIGUOLAO" and gave me the index finger, in a very diliberate way, sticking his hand way out of the car to make sure that I would see.
Is this some kind of vulgar gesture in their culture???
You probably just pissed him off.....that's never happened to me I guess it's just you. Be careful what you say and ignore those who may cause mischief in your life!
kchur:
Thank you, aesop, but I was just waiting at the crosswalk. While I enjoy your endless wisdom and your observational slices of life or whatever you're trying to do, you didn't really answer the question.
nevermind:
That's cause you're not a foriegner, Mattaya. We all know you're Chinese so p1ss off.
According to an article I read on this very subject, it is! I remember laughing about it because instead of flipping the bird, they flip #1! Take it as a compliment... #1 Laowai!
kchur:
I'm not sure but those guys seem really upset. I think I'm onto something!!!
happened once in countryside.....3 crazy younsters.. started with HHeelllloooo Hheelllooooo ... then once they passed me ... "Ffuuuuckkkk YYYoooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu" loud... probably the only 2 words they know...
GuilinRaf:
Truly the best thing you can do is continue walking and ignore them. Not only will you avoid trouble, but by not acknowledging them you make them lose face.
Don't worry
it was most likely Mr Beans Chinese cousin saying hello ![]()
gotta give him credit for being such a big, ballsy man... its just that he didnt have time to stop and tell it to your face because his mommy told him that if he wasnt home by dinner, he wouldnt get his bed time story
