Hello everyone . i just want to know if i'am qualified for a chinese green card. i'm married to Chinese national we also have 1 baby.
8 years 29 weeks ago in Visa & Legalities - China
It's called a D visa. I think less than 5K have been issued since the start of time. They are rocking horse poo. They are the fabled hens teeth.
Bing "China D visa" and you should get some threads on Chinese foreign forums.
I know of one guy with a D. A Nigerian guy who buys for the Nigerian Government.
There is a process apparently. 5 years here paying tax on a work permit, funds in the bank, a house and the correct political thought.
D visas are investigated by Beijing. The local psb does not issue them.

There are a few ways to earn one. Since you are married you should go down that route. You must have been married for 5 years. You must have a home registered in yours or your spouses name. You must have been in China for 5 years (at least 9 months every year). The process can take a while to sort out but chin up it can be done. I know someone, a normal guy, just a teacher who has one. Check out the requirements. If you have access to google then search "permanent residence permit china".

thats accurate but something else that is required is a home country criminal record document (if you are a US citizen it is a F.B.I check apparently that they want) and also if you have broken any kind of Chinese law and are on a computer that buggers up your chances. Someone I know was veto'ed for having a minor driving offence on record.
also worth considering is that to get a Chinese green card you have to be in a favorable place too. Some provinces / municipalities are harder than others to obtain one for whatever reason usually pedantic. these things are issued begrudginly and mainly out of respect if you can tick every single box they want you to tick
Hotwater:
I'd read about the home country criminal records check. Bearing in mind you've had to live in China for >5 years to have any chance to qualify isn't this a bit OT? Surely they should be looking at your record in China?
Lord_hanson:
@hotwater I think it is mostly a background check for the last 5 years.
Laws will relaxed in the coming months but I'm sure none of us will ever get our hands on one.. But its Y1200 to try. Lottery time.
ScotsAlan:
No chance of ever getting one if we are anti Chinese government on here

Probably right man.. Oh well we'll "Q-Visa" it, if we must.
Best of luck.....
You'd think with the rich buggering off to the west asap, they'd be happy some of us are retarded enough to want one!
But as they say "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king".
For me it is worth the work of getting. I have engineering skills to sell. In particular, automation. It is my specialty. I design and build machines that make things. And that brings the money in the the employer.
At the moment I am massively under utilized by the " licensed to employ foreigners" company I work for. I find myself stuck between useless western managers who fear my technical skills, Chinese managers who fear I will have a detrimental effect on their kickbacks, and Chinese engineers who need to prove they are better than me.
I have no problem with the latter. I know many Chinese automation engineers who are better than me.... Erm... Nope. One. I know one Chinese engineer who is better at automation than me.
But he cant give me a job because he has no license to employ foreigners.
China should issue more D visas. We can help China. We can help guide the young engineering grads to become well rounded engineers.
If China wants to innovate, it has to make itself attractive to the white paper engineers.
