As you said, less & less every year.  Thankfully, I have a fake pre-decorated tree otherwise I think I would skip the holiday completely.

But now that my boys are almost 4, I am thinking of ramping up the western experience a little.  However, that is hard to do when you are the only western person in a house filled with 5 other Chinese natives.

This year I didn't even have a Thanksgiving dinner night out.  It is kind of funny how we loose interest in the holidays the longer we are away from the western hype.

Same as me my baby 4 this time, think i should be doing more but with no holiday feel even shes not getting excitied

Exactly. They aren't surrounded by the decorations and the holiday movies and the music and the constant reminders. It is very difficult to pass on that feeling as just one person.

Disclaimer: this is not an answer

Paulmartin, I understand English may not be your native language. That's fine. Nevertheless, if you truly want people to give thoughtful answers to your questions, please reread before posting them. As it stands, reading your run-on above makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

Thanks.

Roquefort:

No, I was just giving a polite piece of advice. Spending an extra minute writing out a question can make things a lot clearer for people who'd take the time and effort to answer them. Unfortunately, I hadn't considered the possibility that the poster was an idiot, as he just demonstrated.

A phone call to the family back home.  That's about as crazy as I get.  Maybe I'll watch How the Grinch Stole Chirstmas (the cartoon version of course).

Xpat.John:

The other version isn't even worth thinking about. The Polar Express is a pretty good movie this time of year too.
