Q: Converting Z visa to F - how? (and, locally??)

Not the normal situation, but yes... jsut in case I don't have a new job lined up, with an extended Z visa - what can I do? Obviously, I'd like the Z to remain, but that would mean the FEC extension - which isn't likely.

So, can I change to an F easily? Or, would I need to go to HK? (Ftr, I've been here a few years, so getting it shouldn't be an issue!)

Happy... time to shine again! Smile

Why will you want a business visa?  Somehow I feel a tourist visa will be easier to get.......

I have no idea on which city you live, so it is hard to tell you if you can do it locally.  Or what you will need.  Some PSB will swap a visa, some will not.  By Law, they are not supposed to do it, but you know how GUANGXI works here.

As far as hiring a visa agency to do it for you, I am scared of them.  A few of my friends paid 1,000 Rmb for Chinese driver licenses to an outfit in Shenzhen.  Looked good enough when they arrived.  But when the first one was stopped by Police, and his license entered in the computer, no file was present, and was told his license was a fake.  I just do not wish that happening to me with a visa at a border station, so I visit Embassies myself.

It will take a two days stay in HKG to do it, drop application and papers at 9 am one day, and pick passport and visa back the next morning, 24 hour service even if they call it 2 days service.

Thank you Happy - I knew I could rely on you! :)

As far as visa types go... I got my letters mixed up :p

And, yeah, I'm shy of those companies as well...

In the end, it won't really be worth doing the HK turn-around, cos I'll be flying out only a week later. I just hoped I could do it locally.

Btw, Hangzhou.
