Love... that has to be the burning sensation  I feel shooting out of me the morning after eating spicy hot pot.

But really, it's not held to the same social stigma as it is back home.  So it's not seen as bad of a thing here.

I must say I have had similar experiences.  My GF does fart in front of me constantly, then laughs afterwards.  I tried doing it in "private" until I got my neck wrinkled for doing so.  So, to hell with pre-notions and joined the fun.  It did not take long to fell confortable doing it with an audience.
I guess it helps to increase the "privacy" issue in a way.

I want to know... since when are men shy about farting/burping/pooping in front of their SO?

Maybe at first.... but it doesn't usually take long for that shyness to wear off.

Yeah I had similar experience and was actually wondering the same thing. Yes with my old girlfriend in england we did get to the stage where we could fart infront of eachother, admittedly I thought it was more funny than she did, she didnt do it too often infront of me.
But yeah, Ive always been a bit weirded over having big dumps around girlfriends when they can obviously hear it. Ive had to do it a few times here with my chinese gf and as you say the flat is small so she is just right next door. I couldnt help it, the food here just does a number on your insides sometimes... Then the other day she saidshe had a bit of a weird stomach pain and let rip the biggest fart I have ever heard a female produce! So i guess its cool!

Maybe I'm just lucky, but the food doesn't bother me that often anymore. I rarely have to run to the toilet these days. I know it's embarassing, but obviously, if you can't hold it back, then go to the bathroom. I think your girlfriend will understand that you don't do it on purpose. If anything, I'd just think "Heh, it sucks to be him right now." Here's some advice, don't worry about it. If your girlfriend breaks up with you because of a few sounds coming from the bathroom, she's got issues.

It's a natural body function if you hold it in you can cause some serious health problems for yourself. I should know I've taken classes that taught this sort of stuff. You actually have to gastrate(hope that's spelled right) before you could take a crap. You should have learned that in Bio-Anatomy class.
