Anyone else had this problem? In my gym there is a creepy cleaning guy who constantly tries to watch me as I get changed. Not sneakily either. He will come and stand next to me, less than 1m away and stare. I lost it with him yesterday and made him leave while I got changed.
An old bold unashamed pecker-checker, gotta watch out for them.
My gym's cleaning guy is ok, except when he decides to light up a cigarette. It's all the rest of the creepy old dudes, young dudes, fat dudes, skinny dudes.... (fellow gym members) that can't help but stare. Clothed, unclothed, showering....makes no difference. Any time is a great time to stare at whitey!
Not to cast blame upon you, but is there anything special about your appearance that may attract his/the average Chinese's attention?
I don't know. Maybe you have an eyepatch.

Nothing other than the fact I am the only big white guy in this part of town. Regardless, standing so close I can feel you breathing is not cool.
Learn how to say in Chinese: 'You are too old!' (Nǐ tài lǎole), and tell him that.
or
'Did you see mine? (Nǐ yǒu méiyǒu kàn dào wǒ de ma?)...point to your crouch....It's biiig!' (Zhè shì dà)
You can tell him that instead of 'greeting'.
It is an experiment, so if you could tell us about his 'behavioural changes' after new 'greetings' applied.

I told him to stop looking at me and leave.
(with a Chinese wife, my vocabulary is not bad)
He looked surprised that I didn't want him to hang around and stare at my chap. He, very reluctantly, picked up his shit and left.

I'm using Goog for my Chinese translations. No wife here. Sometimes, when something 'outrages' happen to me, I just speak English: 'Fork off!', and again......
I get that too. People are curious about what the laowai looks like under the clothes. I also find it extremely annoying. That's why I always bring my own extra large towel to the gym.
In a short glimpse of open mindedness and clarity about the Chinese closed mindedness and lack of knowledge about everything on the planet....
Let them stare, let them see we are all the same. Educate them for the greater good of all people on the planet.
... in reality I would most likely either never go to the gym, or start yelling at the people staring.
this makes me feel better knowing that it is not only foreign women get stared at in the gym, not that there is anything acceptable about it.
Chinese do not believe in the personal space like we do. I draw crowds sometimes if I use my phone translator to talk to someone for awhile. They lean on me and look over my shoulder. Sometimes its private and I get annoyed, but sometimes I'm mucking about and I know I'll make them all laugh, so I don't mind. I can turn just about anything into a joke, last night I saw a woman shaking her leg and I started to shake both of mine and said ''Gangham style'', everyone laughed.

I'm always funny, even at home. I think its my way of keeping myself up, if I make you laugh, so do I and it makes me feel good. I'm witty and sarcastic as hell. I am a white monkey, here have a banana.
