Any updates on these criminal background checks that the govt is supposedly imposing on foreigners living and working in China? Do the checks apply only to foreign teachers or do they also apply to any foreigner working in China? Any official publication available that outlines the procedures, country-by-country? Who bears the burden of proof here? The foreign employee, the employer (Chinese or non-Chinese) or the govt (PSB)? Is there a "grace period" to get the check done should it involve returning to the home country?
Any and all feedback appreciated. Thanks.

China is only being lazy most countries do a check on you when they process your visa . on the subject of Visa's have you by any chance had time to view my post Sex in China on a 30 day visa? hahahahaha sorry cant help it
I have just been PSB today for my z visa resident permit renewal,no check needed or asked for.I have been in China 4 years no break. No medical test either, just the same documents,I'm a teacher in a state school..
Together with my company we're sorting out my z-visa now, first time I had to get the background check done. Considering I'm in the home country now it was an easy process, just go to my local municipality that applied for the check with the justice department. The entire thing took just a week!

This is a Beijing deal. Like most new "rules", it will be applied for awhile then forgotten. I mean really, if you've not done anything wrong in the past, then why worry about about it?
