Q: Cyan Roofs? Why not another colour? Why not 'rooves?'
Been flying hither and yon in China the past few weeks. Noticed that almost every factory/machine shop/industrial plant has the same cyan-coloured roof. East, west, north and south.
Does anyone know why?
don't know, we have almost everywhere red roofs in my country.
look here ...
It's probably for the air force to easily see what is civilian and can be bombed and what is worth to keep
or reverse order ?
Scandinavian:
the crazy place I am from, we have red OR black rooves (not on the same building of course)
Nessquick:
Sorrel, we do not use yet plastic something on roofs
. most of the roofs are tiles at least century old.

Professor of languages at the University of Queensland, Roly Sussex, says that roofs and rooves are both ok. As are hoofs and hooves.
But that's Australia where English and sobriety are a second language and second nature ![]()
Why does all trainstation/busstops/airports have the same benches for people to sit and get a sore ass. One (govt) company must have landed the deal to supply all. I guess roof paint could be the same thing.
As far as I can tell, on construction sites, the barracks the workers live in on site are all an off-white with blue rooves. the trucks driving dirt to and from construction sites are (almost) all dark red, school busses are all yellow and police officers are all standing passively while the world goes by.

I think that you have nailed it. I agree that a government factory makes the cheapest sheet iron and it happens to be blue. A slightly different blue to the trucks....must be a rebellious factory that makes the trucks.
I think you might be talking about that plasticy cyan colored crap.
I think it's something they put over the concrete when it starts to leak, like it must be cheaper somehow to put plastic over it than repair.
You see it on residential buildings too

Yeah it's just this stuff, cheap PVC roofing. They use it in lieu of repairing leaky roofs and for cheap warehouse/factory type construction.
Im not sure blue is a stylistic choice or just the color of the chemical process.
