Q: D and G train service from Beijing to Guangzhou.

I just saw an article on this site that said G train service has now started between Beijing and Guangzhou -- running time under 8 hours, second-class ticket about 800 yuan.  Will you take this train?  Is it cheaper to fly?

Of course I'd prefer to fly since it takes less time (2 hours I believe). But then you'd have to buy the plane tickets a few months in advance to get a good price.

But, if something suddenly came up or if I have to travel to Beijing on a short notice, I'd definitely opt for that bullet train, since last minute flights from GZ to BJ can cost around RMB 3000 (round trip)...
