any manner of fried/toasted insects on sale @ night-markets in Isan. Pretty far stretch to say they taste 'good' imo. Most are so covered in salt that that is the only real flavor... my ex tells me the old-timers got in the habit of eating them because that's what is left after all the rice is gone for the season. Insects, snakes, frogs, rats.

I don't even want to picture those things ever being in my mouth, let alone chew them.

Some look pretty strange, scorpions on a stick. I've seen so many strange looking things to eat, don't even know what some things are, and no interest in finding out or trying them. I've seen whole baby deep fried chicks and whole (maybe) sparrows cooked on a stick.

 Does any other culture eat weirder things that the Chinese do? I remember years ago hearing that people would have shoot outs over the worm in a bottle of Tequila. I've seen snake wine in China that makes me want to hurl and the Chinese drink this and think its good for them. They're tougher than I think. I'm afraid of snakes.

I can't remember if I have ever tried.
