Q: To Date or ....

Not to Date? It is a question. Met and chatted up chick. Through the course of the conversation we got to what cities have you been too, what did you do there, etc. Normal 'getting to know you' banter.  Well, she showed me some pics of her up in some skyscraper tourist attraction in HK and I asked her if she was able to go outside on the roof.  Answer was no.  So, then I showed her pics of the World Trade Center and told her how I had stood on the roof of this building.  I then asked her if she knew these buildings.  I got a 'no'.  I have to admit I was a bit huh?  But I accepted that she just didn't recognize them, so, I explained that these were the buildings that were attacked on 9/11, bombed by jetliners.  I even showed her pics of the attack.   She then said to me she never heard about this attack before.  I was like double Huh??,,, But I kept my mouth shut and explained 9/11 to her a bit.

I was semi-ok with everything up until then,, I mean, I do want to get a bit of the ol' In/Out, In/Out,,, and she's a nice girl,,,,   but then,,, I told her how 3000 people had been murdered on that day and that it was a day that changed America, and indeed the world forever.   Then she asked me,,,,,, 'how?'     I'm now at the point where I just don't think I can see her anymore.  Is that the dumbest question in the world ever asked, or what ?

How?   jeez louise.....    what a fkn clueless creature....  I just don't know what to do,,, yeah,,, I want a Slow Ride,,,  but seriously,,,,  that fkn clueless,,, how does a terrorist attack, flying jetliners to use as an ultimately lethal bombing, killing device, into two of the most important, iconic structures of our nation in our number 1 city, that murdered 3000 people change a country that had been relatively unexposed to domestic terrorism until then?  How?,,,  huh,,, How?  wtf?   I'm thinking ending it now with her actually.

so, what do u guys think?

I wouldn't write her off just yet cos like icnif and Ambi say, she might just not care about U.S news much or even really know about it.

It would be a big red flag for me though, she shows all the signs of being another 'very nice' but vacuous, shallow, materialistic zombie.

I'd give her another chance but if she shows signs of having little or no interest in anything other than selfies, pop culture, reality tv /game shows/soaps, obsession with her looks, how much other people's phone, house or car cost, other people's marital status, her wechat updates showing everyone the noodles she had for lunch and shopping....  walk away and don't look back mate.

ambivalentmace:

I married a Chinese zombie that does not care about anything outside China even with a western education. The horizontal bamba is missionary only and twice a week after 6 years, after 2 wives already, you would think I would know better but she is rich, so my wallet has never been drained, much better than the first two wives.

It is really shocking when you know more about Chinese history then academics here do, the worst earthquake in history in 1515 is not even taught in school, the father of China's death is tree planting day, no one even knows. My biggest shock after beating my head against the wall teaching IELTS Writing, is these idiots don't teach writing in Chinese at high school. They have never done a book report, write a daily journal, one 800 word essay is required on the gaokao, so my obvious question after my first 4 years here, How in the hell can you teach writing in a second language to somebody that has no clue how to write in their first language? WTF IS THIS SHIT? I read all the forums and daveeslcafe over a 2 year period, 800 pages and spoke with many people so I would have no surprises when I got here, I was always very prepared and research very well when I work, travel, or fight in another country, but nothing I have read, told me that kids can't write here. The college exams have no essay explain questions, I took a philosophy class here in English, Masters level and never had an essay on any exam, finished 3rd in the class for something I can't really stand, humanities of any kind, and of course everybody passed including the old "little emperors" that showed up on day one and exam day only.

Some of the girls I met and the initial conversations... fkn hell.

So many have no hobbies, nothing they're really interested in, no curiosity about anything new, they have no idea at all what's going on in the world or even their own country, you can't take them for a walk in the park because the sun is out and maybe there will be insects and wouldn't want to anyway because you'd spend your time watching them take 10 selfies in front of every tree then edit the pics over lunch later to get the perfect wide eyed, duck faced, cartoon cat ears and whiskers added picture for her we chat moments.

Why wouldn't you tell her about 911, instead?

The problem I would have is 'what to tell ...', 'cause the official narrative was scientifically debunked several times ...

1. Both buildings collapsed into their footprint what can happened only at controlled demolitions;

2. NORAD run training exercise of ''plane's hitting the high rise building ..." few weeks earlier ...;

5.  "Follow the Money": .... buying Option Puts at the right time/before the event by the owner of the towers and others 'close to the plate' ... and similar trades on NY Stock Exchange ...

... and finally, ''shattering one's 'official narrative' dreams ...'':

7. US Police as an entity cannot be that stupid that 19 jerk-offs could come into USA undetected ... That is just an improbability, especially when taking into account all NSA spying which went on at the time of the event!

I would say, you'll most likely get the same ''What's that?" Q in any other country out of the West. We're counting 17+ years passed since ..

However, the event is very important, unforgettable to you as an US citizen.

'YES' to a date ...!

ambivalentmace:

iCNIF77, sadly, as an american, I have to admit 911 was an inside job,

After reviewing all the information available and you tube videos, first hand accounts, somebody is hiding something.

My first thoughts when it happened were confusing to say the least, even a redneck piece of shit like myself from Alabama, would know that Saudis don't do any work, 1500 pilots in the Saudi airline and only 42 are Saudi citizens, they actually like the job and the money is not an issue when the government gives everybody a check. The idea that 16 Saudi citizens are all in America in flight schools at the same time would never happen in a real world and they have a hard time getting pilots for the Air Force there where I have a friend teaching them English there, there is no way somebody did not notice this shit or they ignored it or covered it up, having a president whose father used to run the CIA, makes this coverup very conceivable and I am still amazed how little trasparency they bothered to even attempt to avoid scrutiny. It's like yes, we did it, screw you, you can't touch us anyway, sort of like killing Patton at the end of WW2 and finding out over a half century later.

icnif77:

Once, I came to the same conclusion, I decided to leave USA for good!

Quoted quote (no. 7) is/was my thought soon after I returned to Boston from Nantucket, where I was on Sep. 11, 2001.

It was sleepy, early morning and I was on the ferry to the island with newly assembled bike for the test ride. On the opposite side of the bench was 30-40 y old couple, she, heavier set woman and he, skinny dude, both also napping. Her phone ringed around 8:25 AM and she said to her hubby:

''It's your mom ...' and started narrating what his mom was saying ... so, I was also 'included' into the event ... thinking 'What a horrible accident that is!' and 'How many people were in the building ...'' and I felt asleep, again.

Her phone ringed 20' later ... and she told her hubby that 2nd plane hit the building ...

I fastly stood up, 'measured' the couple as mentally insane and left my spot on the bench .... after ferry moored, I jumped on the bike and went for a ride and swim around the island .. after late afternoon's return to Nantucket Port, I saw the whole event being broadcasted through the outdoor telis.

Certainly, 'unforgettable' to me, too!

'Goosebumps' occurrence as I am editing this ...

China has no friends, maybe a quasi-friend in Pakistan, but I doubt Pakistan would actually send troops if China was invaded. Since China has no friends and is the center of the world and screw everybody else, WAIT FOR IT, the 9 eleven incident was not reported in the press in China for 2 weeks after it occurred.

It is amazing to me what never gets in the news in China, I have to discuss current events rather dangerously with kids I am sending to Canada so they don't look like fools when they get there, try explaining what Juvenile Crime is to a teenager and watch the incredulity of a "deer in the headlights".

I do get some sadistic enjoyment out of this with my collection of articles about Chinese students cheating and how many get throwed out, or put in jail for fraud using fake ID's for tests. I spend about a week going over this and telling them if they cheat and make me look bad, I will be waiting for them when they get of the plane in China to spank them publicly on Weibo so I can finally be deported. The worse part they don't seem to realize is this cheating is not in the news in China at all except domestic cheating on the gaokao, and every academic in the west is watching them because they all know they can't write a personal statement and have been cheating all their life and want you to pay for a full year, get caught, boot you, and have you pay a full year somewhere else and start over, thanks for the money you cheating sucker.

You realise people in China are conditioned to not be engaged in politics? You really don't, do you? They can't even get facts straight about stuff that happened in their own country. A girl who doesn't have a strong, emotionally-loaded opinion on a heavily divisive socio-political event. And you can't respect her for not understanding the social cue to evoke somber reverence. Maybe this girl pretended not to understand while she was thinking: "stop showing me pictures of a terrorist attack site, dipstick, you're spoiling my mood." You Americans go around telling people which of the 52 states you're from, as if they're as relevant as nationalities. Do you scoff at a girl who doesn't know about California or Florida?
What are you thinking? Don't date her, she deserves better

ambivalentmace:

yes everyone from Beijing loves everybody from Shanghai and vice versa. it's not conditioning, it's brainwashing.

I'm sure the local ladies are all gagging for your disrespect-sex. Three cheers for ladies not understanding your disdain for them. I honestly don't give a rat's ass about the lack of political knowledge by anybody. I just find the lack of curiosity in the human spirit so abhorrent to the point of disdain for my fellow man. My problem I suppose, genetic defect and all that politically correct dribble.

Women are the home builders and the gender overly focused on aesthetics. They secure safety and stability in their environment, to have a family. Those are her feminine values she has lived by, and you are judging her by your political, ideological values she does not share. How can you impose your view of right and wrong if you can't even accept culture and gender differences? There's nothing wrong with a woman who gives zero tosses about a false flag terror operation, designed to get people in other countries on edge. You brought your drama to a friendly conversation with her, and she really did nothing wrong.

If you like her go for it. If not back away.

Yeah, truth is me and her are really close,,, really care for her.  Just kinda shocked me when she said all that about not knowing.  But hey, I don't know a lot (most) of world history too.   She's a great girl.    Luv her.   (:

Ya that's China, the people don't give a toss about world events or politics because it doesn't affect them here. But thankfully Chinese have other redeeming qualities.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
