So, I was on the bus back to Foshan from Hong Kong. I happened to look out the window at one point and I saw a smashed motorbike lying on the highway. Then, a little further up was a man lying face down in a pool of blood. A Chinese man next to me was playing a game on his phone but also looked out and saw it. He looked at the man for a few seconds than went back to his game.
I asked a Chinese person later, "why didn't anyone stop to help him?" "are Chinese that heartless?"
I was told that if anyone were to stop and help him and called the police, they would be blamed for what happened. That way the police can say it's a closed case.
Is this true?
I don't know how the ppl thought when they saw it as I am not them. But provided that I was there, I would use the public phone to call the police asap, I think it is the most efficient and troubleless way. But I am sure later there would be some person(either on the street or guard )solve it .
