Hey all,
I did my Bachelor's from an Indian university in 2001. As of now that university has been shut down. I was wondering that if I apply for a teaching job in China would they check my degree ?
If they do, when is that done ? While applying for a Z visa or at some later time ?
Another question, who does this verification ? The PSB/SAFEA or the schools ?
Thanks for the prospect replies !

They won't ring your university up. So long as you have your degree that's enough. But it worries me that your university was shut down. That's a bit weird. Not sure what kind of university you went to or what kind of degree you got from there. Plus your post says "fake vs. real". What's fake about it?
Hello Anonypuss. Is the certificate real or a fake from a non-existant uni?
indian uni????? most probably a non native speaker
you re trying to venture on very difficult grounds
Most interviewers and admin people have a low level of English speaking ability. Many will make the interview short and sweet to save face. So I really doubt they have the desire to actually phone someone to confirm. They can e-mail but I really could they would be able to comprehend what they read. I had a few interviews. If they read my resume they would already know the answers.
They couldn't care less, I know people who have been working in China with fake credentials (degrees, certificates, ...) for more than 10 years, they have never been asked anything about it, HR or immigration officers must be blind or really don't give a rat's ass.
In 3rd/4th tier cities, there are schools set up that can pay bribes to get you working on a visa; not a legal Z visa.
I wouldn't advise it to people, but since you're probably non-native and your credentials are indistinguishable from fake, you might as well try it. Authorities (police) don't ask to see your passport, though I don't know if it will be different for your ethnicity.
Big cities will be big troubles for you, I think.
