Q: Delivery service in China
Hi I am looking for some advice on using SF express courier service for mainland China. I want to send two mail bag packages weighing around 5 kilograms each to a friend who lives in another city in China and would appreciate some advice on the delivery service.
I take it I can call up the company and ask the courier to pick up the packages at my apartment, I just want to know what is the process, I pay cash to the courier and what paperwork am I expected to get from him/her such as an invoice or
anything else?

from one city in china to another is not complicated... they will provide you the form to fill which will have 3-4 copies underneath for all concerned people.. (sender, receiver, pick up office, delivery office etc)...
paying cash is not compulsory..they also offer cash on delivery..
delivery time is usually 2-3 days but can be arranged sooner on a very minimal fee..for my document parcel this extra fee for urgent delivery was 2 rmb and was delivered next day before 12pm.. SF is good..

Thank you, can I fill the form out in English? or does it have to be in Chinese as then I would have to get someone else to fill it out. The address labels however to the receiver are in Chinese characters.

you can write an english name. then a number for the contact person, and the adress will be in Chinese. The SF guys will gladly help you write it. They do it for me all the time.
