Apply online for every School's advert at eChinacities. EVERY! There are more than 300 job adverts daily.
It doesn't matter, what School is asking for, just send your CV.

You must be aware, when School is asking for your photo, they probably have a problem with the 'skin color', and they want white teacher. Chinese are racists, I would say to their defence, probably 'unknowingly'!

It is not custom in China, that School would say to a job candidate: 'Thank you! We are not interested in your work or appearance.'

They will just skip your CV, and forget you.

You won't get reply on most of your sent CVs. Never mind! Just keep applying for job offers.

You should keep sending replies to new job offers even when you're already secured the job.

That's online work!

If you are in China already, visit ALL Public Schools, Language Schools and Training Centres in the city with your CV and credentials.

I consider applying for new position in China as my part-time job. I am applying for new positions constantly.

Non-native English, white teacher's advice!

Good luck!

Be careful with that school in particular. Read the contract... it's not pretty. Seems like other foreigners have died there...

Definitely yes, I know Nigerians teaching in China. Some schools actually care more about your qualifications than your skin color. Anyway you don't want to work for people who care about your appearence more than your skills.

Just send another picture, once you're there, you're there! Your job is to make them like you!

I did that when i was pregnant 'coz no one wanted to hire me for "security reasons"

Good luck!

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
