Mostly no. But many of the younger generation are now starting to understand how to dress very well. It is the ones who get it SOOOO wrong that stand out. One of the worst things to look at for a Western male is the wearing of horible looking stockings and how they wear ones with the top bit that is meant to be hidden under a skirt etc sticing out from short shorts or short skirt.

What about Chinese men and the penchant for pulling their trousers up under their armpits. Harry high pants lol.

are you referring to the 30s woman wearing the leggings as pants , pink bra under the white shirt (i was told they do that to be sexy) some faupas i dont mind because it gives me a good idea of what their working with. but my favorite is the bra that is too big for them hehe (im not good with fashion terms or english in general but i hope you understand)

I be digging the "I'm a tramp" look!!! I do laugh at how the 40-50 year old women are also wearing the same clothes as the 20 something year old women... I think they should ban the sale of padded bras in China though... It's false advertising.

Mabye the farmers are like that. But, if you go into downtown Beijing or Shanghai, they're pretty well on top of current trends.

My wife is about the least fashionable woman I know. The first time she wore those stocking socks with sandals I explained to her why it looks stupid and she never did it again. It's cute though, she's hopeless in an adorable way.

Once I was walking in my neighbouhood and saw a woman walking in front of me I thought "Jesus, what kind of outfit is that?"
Then I noticed I was married to the woman wearing it!!!

I reckon they all look fabulous, sexy, adorable, enticing, molestable and summer in China means being in a constant state of excitement. Bling it on I say - don't change. It's the only opportunity I get to stare back with justification!!

Compared to American chicks, Chinese girls are the EPITOME of fashion!

There are different types of fashion sense but most have a good sense for western style  some just don’t use it

Well, about two or three summers ago, I remember every dude had 3 foot tall red marge simpson hair and a pink polo shirt tied in the middle, while every non-pregnant woman was wearing a maternity dress so I would have to say an impeccable sense of fashion all round.

In many cases it looks like they just choose their favourite pieces and toss them all on at the same time regardless if they go together well or not. Stripes, flowers, silly Chinglish phrases, polka dots, patterns, whatever, it's a free for all. Top that off with a pair of glasses that have no lenses and there you have it........Chinese fashion.

pft, "fashion sense " buying and wearing expensive stuff can't compensate for the lack of taste. A person with a fashion sense would NOT go around wearing  Converse sneakers and an LV handbag. ( at least that's what they all do in Guangzhou - this is probably the local uniform )

Considering half the girls I know are wearing Gucci and Louis V, I'd say they have fashion sense and could whip your ass with it.

the only good thing about this is that these women often times pull an i-dont-care attitude. they just put whatever looks good on them (even if it's borderline horrendous) and work it to the max.
