Q: Do Chinese ISPs block bit torrent traffic?

cough, cough...not that I use bit torrent, but, a "friend" of mine recently moved in to a new apartment and "his" bit torrent client doesn't work any longer. And that friend really wants to watch Breaking Bad...

Does anyone know if certain Chinese ISPs block bit torrent traffic, and if there are any ways to get around it?

My "friend" thanks you!

I can't say why his doesn't work but about a year or two ago (the last time I tried in China) my friend already had bittorrent on his computer from home. To his surprise, he was able to download torrents no problem. Despite his FB and YT etc etc being blocked.

But that's a while ago and I suppose that 'loophole' may have been de-looped heh

Works fine, but some trackers are blocked unless you use a VPN.  I use a private tracker for sports, and it sucks to have the VPN on and slow down my speed.  Pretty hard to keep a good ratio!
