Q: Do Chinese people detest Western female smokers?
I am arriving in Beijing in September and i have been researching etiquette in China and it seems that
locals find Western women who smoke to be vulgar and crass. Is this true? Also, are there smoking bans in all Beijing bars?

Simple answer would be: yes.
As a general rule of thumb, the stigma is that smoking women are 'bad girls'. While the stigma might not stick as strongly on Western women, just the fact you're a laowai girl will scare many Chinese men away.
Personally, I find Chinese guys to be weaklings, easily intimidated by a woman with an ounce of personality and independence.
As for the bars, the 'rule' is you're not allowed to smoke in public places, but no one gives a rat's ass about it.
thier are more smokers in china than thier are people in the usa they loe thier cigs the only place i found that you coud not smoke is mcds kfc pizza hut papa johns and subway
