Q: Do Chinese people eat licorice?

I've never seen it here but think it's the sort of thing Chinese people would LOVE!
I can imagine Bertie Bassett and his licorice allsorts doing a ROARING trade here in China!

I don't know if they eat it, but they definitely produce it in large quantities. My Chinese drinks a lot of wine, and she empty the bottle everyday. I make her drink 3/4 of the bottle, the last quarter is because she really likes the taste. So there's no left for me.

I like to drink Blue Sapphire gin, and on the list of ingredients, it says they use Chinese licorice because it is the best high quality licorice you can find on earth. It's written on the bottle!

Not sure though if they love it as much as Patsy, back in her garage in Montana, 'Merica...
