Just curious, are there many people who want access to the blocked websites?
Yes, some do use it, because people from China get on twitter. I have at least one student who uses one to read the news.
I think it is illegal so only people with enough face to not get there face shot for doing it.
Though my friend knows I girl who study's bio cem so she can do certain things for the gov, and she said that she can get on certain databases and search engines without it breaking the law.
people you forgot the p peole no big
Yeah, I think it's pretty common. Can be useful when doing business or other dealings with overseas customers/partners. For example, if a customer wanted to send a large artwork file (too big for email), some services like dropbox are not accessible in China. So you need to use a VPN. I think most Chinese internet users know what's up....
It is becoming more and more common. I get more and more local Chinese people in my town adding me as a friend on FB every day.
Bawahahaaa.... you guys are funny!!! (well, except for aroberts..).
My Chinese boss has an FB account, one of my students wanted to help me by linking me to a VPN, and another student was asking me about mine, because he uses the same one cos he wants to find out the 'real' news....
Yeah, it's everywhere!!!! It kinda makes the GFW pretty laughable (for the educated..)

When I was in China I had used ExpressVPN to watch amazon prime on Kodi. Because it is geo-restricted in China.
certainy,some Chinese do use it.
VPN is not at cheap price.
A few think it don't deserve to afford that.
DO you like to use an app called weichat?
ambivalentmace:
there are free vpn's available on torrent sites, most of them work about 70 percent of the time, but going linux with your own servers eliminates all aggravations.
I have a chineese friend who asked me for cyberghost vpn review so obviously they do. If not, it would be quite strange because it's the only way for them to access world wide web.

As soon as you post a link to on this website to anything what is rendered prohibited ... it will get blocked.
Yes, they do. My friend actually has to use one at his job. It's an international company (based in China), so a vpn is a must. Also, I know plenty of my students use vpns for instagram.
