who knows. I have seen people with some nasty looking gunk on there tooth like a dark yellow colour. Even worse are the people who talk to you and it smells like they have been eating cow shit all day.

Wife and I brush our teeth twice a day.

it seems like toothpicks are a pretty popular floss alternative...

also floss is weirdly sometimes hard to find here. ew

My wife does but she got the habit from me while in the UK. I don't know of any other Chinese who does.

P.S. I don't floss AFTER brushing my teeth, I was advised by a dental hygienist to floss BEFORE brushing my teeth as then the toothbrush takes away the bits the floss pulls out.

If you look at Watsons (I think) they have some cool things that are kinda like toothpicks on one end, and a floss thing on the other.. I use all the time.

Oral hygiene is a 'developing nation' in the MK.   angry

I introduced flossing to my Chinese friend, and she knew very little about flossing and its benefits.

What's flossing, I just put mine in a glass of sterodent next to the bed.

Perhaps most Chinese are too busy eaking out an existance to be bothered with such an obsessional habit.

Nope, they just chew on the branch of some tree for twenty minutes.

Joke.

In fact the Chinese are all about toothpicks. Never even seen floss in the stores. Might be there though.

Buy Philips Sonicare toothbrush... it wont be a problem even if you dont floss!

diverdude1:

That's what I use !  Love it!  Will never do without again.

I bought mine @ Fortress in Hong Kong (Kowloon tong). Around 700hkd. Be warned before u buy, it is powerful, if you are really sensitive, it may be too strong.

Just a small mirror before I go to work    -   Do western males wash their hands after they have a piss?

GuilinRaf:

Some do, some dont and many just "splash a little water" on their hands and walk out.

Perhaps it's a better idea to wash them BEFORE you have a piss, logic dictates that your hands are dirtier than your willy.

Not my willy, yeesh, it's all covered in fungus and mold, and it's got bugs living on it and graffiti down the side of it, it's a mess. Do you know what, I went to the pictures in Camden Town once and the loo was full, and in the minute I stood waiting I saw one guy walk out of a locked shitter (suggests he was pinching one off) and straight out the door without so much as a look at the hand basin. I barely had time to think "You filthy sod" when another man turned round and walked straight from the urinal to the hand dryer. On my life. I just stood there thinking "Animals. I'm surrounded by animals." But if I was an average mentality, foreign visitor i'd go back home saying "The British are a bunch of dirty bastards." As it is i'm below average and I think 'everyone' is a bunch of dirty bastards.

Most have no clue what's a floss! I once ask this question in class and this is what I've got after and before my explanation.  cryingangry
