I could go on all day.........
Maybe because McDonald, Burger King, etc, comes from USA, and are presented as successful franchises, thus everyone eats them.
Also maybe this is why almost all new Chinese friends when inviting me to eat at a restaurant suggest one of those fast food chains, and are quite surprised when I reply that do not eat at those "junk food" places.
They ask me, 'do you like PAOTZA?' I nod in YES and say I love it like 'HELL' and they GIGGLE.....
They ask, 'DOES CAPTAIN AMERICA USE TOILET
?' I am speechless.....
French people are romantic
In (put here any European country), English is the national language, or everybody is fluent in English
(put here any European country) is an extension of USA, with no significant cultural differences
American eat hamburgers here more often because there's nothing else closer to home. Further, slop is staple to locals but not not Americans or foreigners. I don't think we go to Mackers so often back home. Perceptions are drawn from movies and what's available to them on the web.
Do you know that my students think:
foreign women are very acrobatic on bed?
foreign men are all hairy?
all foreigners have blue and green eyes?
all Americans and British are the most handsome guys on planet earth?
all foreigners make millions per year?
That's what indoctrination did to them in local kindergartens, primary and secondary schools by local teachers who are equally, perhaps more indoctrinated with such nonsense.
