Q: Do Chinese students of english ever bug the F**K out of you?
My wife has just gone away for a few days, and taken the computer with her, and so I am in a wangba, nursing a beer and doing my thing. And this dude next to me won't let up with the questions. Why did I sit next to an English teacher, there are thirty people in here? I just want to drink and look at porn.
What do you do when someone pushes you for English practice?
could be worse, beautiful girls wanting to practice english all the time, my wife and i have a favorite restaurant we go to and the waitress asked me one time when wife was sick if i wanted a small wife and she wanted the job. like the food so i never told the wife.

One day she's going to stumble across this post. It's inevitable.
I just tell them over and over that I'm not an English teacher, sorry. I also try to explain that my free time is valuable to me, and I'd rather be doing something else besides giving free English lessons (no one ever offers to pay, and their offer to teach you Chinese in return usually doesn't pan out either). Eventually they get the hint....sometimes. 
I say I would be happy to oblige. My usual rate is 200RMB / hour but because it seems we are friends I will teach you for 150RMB / hour ok?
It very rarely bothers me. If they just want conversation, I am happy to talk until the conversation runs out, at which point I wish them a good evening.
If I don't feel like talking, I just tell them I want to sit on my own and have a beer.
Oh....I thought this post was originally about students who are annoying....in that case not really! There was a girl on the bike riding around the tiananment area trying to talk to all the english speakers I was trying to go to Wangfujing street...didn't know what was going on!
Due to my appalling lack of Chinese it doesn't happen to me outside work, very often, however, when it does if I'm not in the mood for such a conversation I just put on my local accent (Black Country UK) and speak quickly. They usually wander away looking very confused.
"if you have a complaint about sth in china, why not go back to your own home country?"
i just keep asking some questions back such as : “would you ask a chinese person the same question?” that usually stops them asking me.
I have various tactics for this depending on my mood.
Sometimes I am polite and tell them I just don't have the time.
Others I ignore.
If I am feeling in a particularly vindictive mood I will speak in French or, not so politely, tell them to fuck off and leave me alone.
Yes, it's so incredibly hard for me to speak English for a minute or two. Imagine the nerve of a citizen of a country engaging with a foreigner in that foreigner's language.
