Some of my fondest memories in college (blurry as they may be) were playing flippy cup and doing keg stands at house parties. Does China have party schools, and do Chinese students throw house parties? And, if so, how inappropriate would it be for a college English teacher to show up at one with a case of Natty Ice?

No, they dont.
They will have a kind of dinner party at a restaurant as dorm parities are not allowed. As to their homes, most of them are not large enough to host all 6 to 8 roommates let alone an entire college department.
Even when they do get together, it will almost always be either boys only or girls only.

God that sounds boring. Now I have images of people playing chess and giggling about how kick-ass the party is.
Rock paper scissors...that's their party life
Scandinavian:
Most of the play without scissors as they only have theoretical knowledge on how to use such a tool due to no arts & crafts during early school years, and they do not risk using it. Some would say it takes the excitement out of the game, however the outcome of Rock, paper, Scissors when harmonized, is not actually based on hand gestures but by who pays the biggest bribe.

I have no idea but it is very annoying. Also the sound of dice shaking...
Show them the movies Animal House or Revenge of The Nerds (more appropriate) as apart of culture exchange. They just need to learn.I showed porn to a girl and she just *&9hsljd kke;eoq;ppqodow nnn iqeihididejopajopajo e9weeiejdejiejifjijioejioefjoefjopwefjopejoefjo
Yes, I guess I do miss playing quarters.
Not here, not from what I've seen. If they go out it's usually all boys or all girls. If it's mixed they still tend to stay with their gender. They might get drunk after dinner at the dinner table and go home. That's about as crazy as it normally gets.
In short, if you want to do jello shots out of some hot gal's belly button you might need to search a bit. I'd start in Shanghai.
you need a big house to throw a part and that's not available in China.
They don't throw 'em, they don't go to 'em and they don't know about 'em.
"We have too much homework to do", said all students.
Sad
Shit. I miss quarters and flip cup. I have taught my Chinese friends how to play beer pong. My Chinese friend's actually play a Chinese version of King's Cup which is pretty fun.
I don't think they do. My classmates almost always say they will have a dinner or a get together, they never say party. And when it's a get together in the dorm, it's usually hot pot and then the girls and they guys don't really talk to each other.
Or sometimes they go out for the "xiao ye" (midnight munchies?) and the whole class goes out and eats barbecue and so.
That would be very inappropriate I suggest you don't do that. You show up to a party and encourage them to break the law and you will go down with them only harder....
a graduating student i knew lived in an apartment block on campus and with his house-mates would regularly invite friends over for meals - home cooked. Add a few beers and a pack of cards and you have a house party. They were so wild ! finished at 10.00 sharp every time
No, cuz they don't have a house to throw parties in
Last year, the universtiy hosted a great Christmas party, the university students did musicial chairs, word games, and had a real exciting "bunny hop" dance.
This was the wildest party I have seen.

I see your 3 hours and raise the bet to 4.5 hours. My goodness, school parties can last for.....ever and a day.
No they don't. You have to bring on the party yourself but don't expect many Chinese to show up. It'll mainly be other foreigners drinking themselves to oblivion and then bonding over their collective hangovers the next time they show up for class. Chinese parties are going to KTV, eating peanuts, and sometimes having one Qingdao beer.
