Q: Do Genital Warts mean the cancellation of my teaching visa?

I have been in a monogamous relationship for almost a year. Yesterday in the shower I found a suspicious lump on my scrotum and went to the hospital to get it checked. They took a sample and I am waiting for the results. Naturally, I told my girlfriend abut this since we hope to be married during the Chinese New Year. She says I should not have gone because if it is something bad (Genital Warts) I will lose my teaching visa and be kicked out of the country. Is this true? My worry is that we wont be able to marry next year as planned. Both of us want to remain here in China.

Well first hopefully it is nothing serious!

If you do have a STD many public hospitals are required to notify the authorities about this.

Just because you have an STD doesn't mean you will get kicked out but you can have your visa revoked for this.

If it is an STD and you claim to be in a monogamous relationship then I think you have bigger problems to worry about.

Genital warts? No, I don't think they'd kick you out for that. Not really a serious public health issue. HIV or tuberculosis, now that's a one way ticket out of China.

I did a GIS for g warts, and despite the nightmares I will now have of cauliflower growing on my junk, I don't think anyone would ever describe that as a "lump".

They probably tested it to see if it possibly might be a tumor or cancer. Best of luck to you on that and I hope it's nothing serious. A friend of mine had a similar issue but it turned out to be an ingrown hair.

Bullshit.  Even if you have an Std they won't kick you out.  they only kick you out if you have aids and other serious diseases.  stop worrying about it.  you have an std get it sorted and move on

No, it means you have herpes and at least one of you have not been monogamous for very long.

Yes well that will never do chaps, those pink lights are cursing, I am a honest hard working english fellow, and not a respected teacher..

Try fasting, but you will need about 2 months, and a natural follow up diet..

Disclaimer: you should see a health professional. I also realize this post is a year old, but...

It might not be HPV. It's quite possible that you just developed a pimple, or an ingrown hair. Since you've been in a monogamous relationship for a year, if you did develop HPV, it's likely that your current woman gave it to you. This is actually somewhat common: if a Chinese person has an STD, most of them like to hide this fact from you and try to trap you into being with them.

There's also fordyce spots, which can cover your entire penis and might resemble warts, or pearly penile papules which affects the glans. Neither of these are cause for alarm, nor are they contagious (look them up and judge for yourself).

Most of the people in the world have HPV, but not everyone has the genital warts variant (there are different strains). It's important to know that there is hope: your body, if you have a good immune system, can clear this infection within two or three years.

Whether or not you have protected or unprotected sex matters little: you can and will infect your partner either way. Same with herpes. Condoms can help against most STDs, but these are the two which wont really help you, or them. You should still wear them.

As far as my opinion is concerned and I'm writing this answer  as doctor's point of view , only case foreigners are deported when they are diagnosed with HIV,TUBERCULOSIS,STDs and RARE DISEASES which have never been heard of or there are very few cases of them in P.R.China, in certain  cases foreigners are not deported but they are confined to their home i.e. isolation nearly complete but its not possible here in China as all of us are managing our life ourselves and on top of that isolation support is not available in China. In nutshell, you shouldn't worry about it , it will be fine .
