Q: Do Hong Kong citizens need visas for the Mainland?

Just wondering since there are quite heavy restrictions on Mainlanders wanting to visit Hong Kong (undrstandably).

There is "home return permit (回乡证)" card for residents of HK and Macau to visit mainland China.

No. If you have a Hong Kong ID card you can run across the border as much as you can. The same applies to people in Macau.

The "Home Return Permit" applies to mainlanders who are residents of Hong Kong.

Most Hong Kong/Macau citizens who frequently needs to cross into mainland China will have a fast track card that means no passport check, and significantly less standing in line.
